I am well known by people for being the weapons specialist. What would you do if you had the puerto rican shit head thieves living near you. People give them their money and they poke them with knives for fun. Kill em all & save yourself. Look at what some asshole homie wannabe sent me as a threat or whatever this is supposed to be.
I guess thats supposed to scare me.

| | | wow, this is turning into "what not to bring". i try and stick with just the basics: 1) the heavy caliber robot assisted autocannon Vasquez had in Aliens. 2) several grams of 5 -meo-DPT, an extremely powerful hallucinagen. 3) a unitard 4) a flashlight (this one hasn't actually come in handy yet, but i am a great believer in being prepared) 5) a back up unitard 6) a hard hat (safety first!)

Word. If you're worried about being alone, you're better off taking a self-defense class than just bringing along a guy who may or may not take off at the first inkling of danger. Anyways, I try and travel light, but prepared. Here's my core list: Flashlight Back-up Flashlight Spare batteries Cell Phone First Aid Kit Gerber Multi-Tool Mechanix Gloves Lighter I always bring at least those items. Anything else I may carry depends on where I'm going. Edit: Flashlight, not Fleshlight. FLASHLIGHT. [last edit 7/19/2004 9:41 AM by Indigenous Insurgent - edited 1 times]

| | | Sure it's sensible...except for the "being a girl" part. You either like to explore alone or not. I don't see what being a girl has to do with anything. Back on topic...who hates backpacks?

It's just that sentance came off as "Oh, I'm a girl therefore I'm weak and helpless." Probably not what you meant by it, but thats what garnered the responses [/off-topic] [topic] Backpacks. I am not especially fond of them as they tend to get in my way a lot when crawling through tight spaces. I have a little messenger bag (actually, its a purse) that is usually enough to carry the bare essentials. When I do need more space, I put on my ranger vest. What good is exploring if you can't look spiffy? [last edit 7/20/2004 7:36 AM by Indigenous Insurgent - edited 1 times]

If you have the money, Pelican cases work great (and have a major cool factor). If you don't have the money, use ziplock bags. Keep in mind that Maglites (and most other flashlights) aren't waterproof - only water resistant. Princeton Tec, Pelican, and Underwater Kinetics are all good brands that make lights designed to get wet, you may want to check out what they have to offer. If you do use a Maglite in a very wet place though, make sure to lube the o-rings with silicon grease first. Oh yeah, don't bring anything you don't want to get wet. edit: What kind of flooded places are we talking about? [last edit 8/10/2004 11:37 AM by tick - edited 1 times]

| | | I have never heard of a pelican case, can somebody tell me morea bout these? I mentioned flooded exploring because of the storage miens during rainy months (groudnw ater floods low spots pretty good), and there are a few underground business parks I know of that have flooded as well.
