A typical pathetic measure, but I'm giddy about convincing my mom to pose, so I had to share.

Reposting this photo, now that I've found the right thread for it.

1.

In Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA. I see no reason not to reveal the exact location, because all that's beyond it are some graffitied concrete barriers to keep the mounds of trash and wayward shopping carts from touching each other. It's on the hillside above the beach, at the far end of the parking lot by the railroad tracks (well obviously).

I'm quite intrigued by this fence; it's a wonderful example of the security oversights Olaf notes in his excellent fence-climbing tutorial, http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=105540 . If you must climb the barbed wire fence, a concrete block is helpfully positioned next to it to step up on. In addition to the adjacent low fence, the barbed wire fence has a gaping hole. And in case you can't climb up on the concrete block, climb the railroad fence or fit thru the hole, the other end of the barbed wire fence just ends in woods. Plus it's quite isolated. I'm going back there to practice climbing.

LOL Clostridium, that's a good one. The only use I can think of AT ALL for the tape is maybe an improvised way of determining if anyone had opened the doors recently. If that were the goal, however, you'd think they would use smaller pieces of tape or place them in a less obvious location (maybe at the very top or bottom instead).

You are right. That is exactly what its for. And even if it is obvious, its still 100% effective. How would you replace the tape once you are in? Think about it.

This is actually a pretty effective security measure. I have seen it used before. It won't keep you out, but it will certainly let security know you went in. Which in a way is much worse.

If security doesn't come around for a few hours you're all good. But usually places that do this have pretty regular security rounds.

Hilarious thread, haven't laughed so much in a long time...even got a couple of my own prime examples of security fails too...

Some particularly high quality fencing...

This fence was less than waist-height

Yep that fence ends about two feet from the wall and isn't attached to anything - one of the windows not in view had a board ripped off. I went back a week later and all the fencing had been nicked and about half the rest of the boards ripped off.

The van with a large gap either end is all that was stopping you accessing here...

Lets board the door up properly but neglect the people-width gap either side

This kind of counts - the mortuary of a huge, now-demolished derelict hospital in the north of England, because of where it was it was nearly impossible to get into the site without having the police called on you, but the security guard if you knew him would happily let people who just wanted to take photos into the buildings as he knew they wouldn't cause trouble. Anyway we were there and we asked where the mortuary was, before he buggered off he took us there but realised he had secured the door a few days ago - so promptly kicked the door off it's hinges for us!

Derelict theme park in Belgium....yep.

Boarded up mean spiky fence with two bars ripped off slightly further down

Lol

This window board is being held up by duct tape. Note the screw in the tape.

1. Fence-posts and screen were looted. Only the post-tops remain ... like beads on an abacus.
