I've seen some bad ones, but 3 were exceptionally bad. ( I apologize, I only have one crappy picture) The first one, at a pre-demolition site I explored over a couple weeks, they started out with nothing. Then I think the town found out that there had been vandals inside, so they tightened security. How you may ask? they parked an unmanned security car outside each night and left it running. Second, there wasn't even a full perimeter fence, there were spans of red tape hung on posts, with a couple keep out signs. third, just a half-assed attempt to board a huge hole where some doors were removed. (again, sorry for quality)

2.

(green line is roof clearance, pink is board max height, and blue is ground level)

The most common security flaw I see, is having ladder covers that would normally keep people out, but not locking them. I think there has been only 2 occasions where they actually had a lock on them, and one of those two locks was unlocked, the other you could just use the lock as a foothold to bypass the cover. Another flaw is when ladders are caged, with the bottom of the cage secured, except the outside of the cage is a perfect ladder as well, so you can just climb the outside.

Do hilariously pathetic attempts at spelling count? Found this and another similar sign on the floor in a basement.

Found a bunch of business cards next to it and couldn't resist but make a few slight edits....

When on a rooftop, the ladder to a higher section has one of the metal sheets that covers the bottom half of it. Instead of being locked shut like intended, the only thing holding it closed was yellow tine tied in a bow.

That reminds me of a hospital in New Jersey myself and EsseXplorer checked out at the weekend. Whoever was in charge of securing the site had 'fixed' the holes in the fence with bright yellow caution tape.

While scouting a freshly abandoned hospital I thought that I got caught on camera. After hiding and waiting a while to see if the guard will come I tried a different route, but found another one, so I couldn't pass, however one idea crossed my mind... I walked to the corner where the cameras were mounted on an angle so that nither could see me, and... just picked up the cable and waved it to my two friends that were there with me - the cables weren't connected
There were 14 cameras and not even one was filming.

I recall a Walgreens store that has the aisle marker themed sign that hangs below the dome camera and it says "SECURITY CAMERA" on it.

Found this at an old school. The best part was that my friend and I scaled a wall and squeezed through a window to get in but we found out the front door was unlocked and falling off its hinges. This was the other front door.

Ah yes, I vividly remember an industrial site i was at. Power was on, and though abandoned was being cleared out.... thing is....

1; The power was on but every single electronic security measure from mag sensors to security cameras was non-functional.

2; Despite them placing a board up against a door to keep people out.

.... every single other door on the building was open.

Every building and site has a story, and they are often of mistakes. Learn from them before they are gone forever.

A local place has motion detectors installed. Normally this would be bad news, but they've been inactive long enough for one of them to be smashed and tagged.

Gotta love urbex schadenfreude.
