| | | if you are going to wear a pack you may want to ensure the it has a good waist belt . it is good to have this so you can distribute the wait evenly 60% on your waist-40% on your shoulders. this way you get more upper torso mobility, especialy with heavier loads, and you can carry 1/4 to 1/3 of you body weight ( not that we cary that much weight in EU, but the mobility in the back is good) try it , you will be suprised!! have fun , and remember- bag everything, and have a first aid kit!!!!!
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

| | | hay maybe you should go UEing with intelex! i mean his katana/macheti 2 in one and your homemade shotgun will make it so drywall and rats will never hurt you again! and if you see a hobo you intelex can use his fake pistol and you can use your shotgun to turn him into cottige cheese and then you can flee on your hover boards so the police can't chase you. i bet you made that shotgun out of the best pvc you could find so i'm sure it won't explode no matter how much you point it at people and yell "BOOM BOOM your dead". then you can set up his tent and camoflage it with one of his 50 difforant camo tarps. if you get tired of walking don't worry intelex brought an suv in his back pack. and with intelex's explosives why not jst make your own tunnel? who neads old, stinky drains for UE when you can make your own [last edit 4/2/2004 2:37 PM by masher - edited 2 times]

I'm with Lord Nat on this one, all I've ever needed for exploring was a flashlight, pocketknife, and waterproof hiking boots.

| | | I Apologize if what im saying has been said a million times before... This is the stuff i carry with me all the time, not just when I think i might go urbex'ing, i believe in the boyscout motto, always be prepared, KIT IS KEY, YOU DONT HAVE KIT YOU DONT HAVE SH.. My kit = Kodiak airport backpack ~having a small set of wheels makes it rather easy to push infront of you through smaller areas... granola bars, chocolate banana or otherwise... handy for a snack, good source of energy, individually wrapped so they stay dry, and they like never go bad, they are also small and light A beverage, usually gatorade, powerade, or water Both of my knives... one small one larger.. both sharp... Small first aid kit... Zippo/'s depending on whether ive got both full or not, Bic lighter notebook and pen Work gloves.. leather usually actually riding gloves for horses work best... tighter fit then most usually wearing either my steel toe boots, my rubber boots, or my sneakers depending on if i gotta do sneaking... change of clothes ~depending on where im going~ snake light... hey it fits in the bag.. waterproof coat ~again depending on where im going pliers.. needle nose... and normal.. ~ya never know~ a few extra army style belts, ~great if you need to tie a quick handle.. sturdy material, and no knots required....~ usually carry one or 2 in my backpack ~hey ya never know~ usually have 3 of em or 4 of em on me, ~knew a chick once who enjoyed being tied... and so... i carry straps incase...~ they actually come in handy... if you wanna hang yer pack or something it takes no more then 3 minutes to have it secured to a pipe, branch, railing.... any medications i may happen to be on at the time, i will always carry 1 or 2 days dose ~hey if i get busted im not going without my meds~
box of rubbers... hey... ya never know... you might need to waterproof an assault rifle... my hat... 3.5 megapixel fuji digital camera ~this camera has been through hell, it spent last winter in a snowbank, still takes clear crisp pictures, and works just fine, best christmas presant ive ever gotten, 3 pairs of socks... wet feet.. are uncomfy feet... usually 2 pairs of my think work socks... 1 pair of thinner sport socks... hmm what else is in there ~starts digging into his backpack~ Book, Discman, CDs, if your ever waiting for someone, reading a book makes time go faster.. i don't like silence much.. so if im alone.. ive usually got my discman playing very quietly ~so i can still hear whats going on around me but it removes total silence...~ Batterys... about 10 AAs, 6 Cs, for maglight, discman, camera, and snakelight... usually ive got an extra coat or hoody... My helly hansen fleece... definately a worthwhile investment, layer it with a long sleeve shirt, and its the warmest piece of clothing i own.... can opener... ~long story... involving a camping trip.. a can of tuna.. a lack of a can opener.. and a rock hammer.. caused me to start carrying this can opener.. its just a cheap one.. but hey it has a bottle opener for them pesky pop tops.. comb... incase of bad day... i usually have my pipe... pit stick, cologne, spare toothbrush/toothpaste... Cell phone.. uplink cord for my camera.. extra memory stick for camera ~incase i gotta make a stop and drop at a friends PC one night to clean both cards~... spare cell phone charger.. them little individually sealed glasses clothes... as well as some wetnaps.. if you cant see clearly... your F***ed... On this note... sunglasses.. i hate coming out of dark places to daylight.. it sucks.... a few pencils and a few pens.... My hitchhiking equalizer ~a wooden club i made a long time ago.... My wallet... in a river case... ~waterproof plastic case.. not that big.. big enuf for my wallet cellphone.. one of my 2 zippos and a pack of wooden matches.... I think thats all... ill edit more later if i gotta... And if i have it handy usually about 15 feet of rope... The total pack weighing in at 30lbs-40lbs depending on the day... NEVER carry more then 30% your body weight.. the average person cannot sustain carrying more then 30% of their body weight for extended periods of time....
This is what i carry on me for every day life lol... my backpack almost never ends up more then 15 feet from me.....
EDIT: Yeah some days i also carry my propane torch head and a cylinder or 2 of propane... call my crazy..... OH yeah... My Exacto knife... ~sharp handy little bugger~... oh yeah... forgot to add... my wire cutters.... Bugger... forgot about my 1 inch crescent wrench, my universal screwdriver, my allan wrenchs... aka allan keys...

Hmm... maybe buy a real gun, that was made by competant people in a factory and based on sound design and safety principles. Even if they're illegal in your state I'm sure you can find one, and it would probably only get you the same amout of time in Federal Pound-Ass prison as that thing you're using.

And rightly so. Floater is referring to what us Yankees (and Canucks) tend to refer to as a "flashlight". In England (and probably surrounding aras), that is the common term.
