OH NOES I AM SO SCARED.

But seriously, every abandonment should come with a cat.

Or ten.

Chainlink fence all the way around a water treatment facility with a locked gate at the opening.

And someone dropped the key to the padlock on the ground about a foot away. Works like a charm!

An industrial-size lot of combination locks to "protect" every roof on campus. I'm talking the lame kind with 4 digit-rings from 1 to 6. And they were all in order too, 2345, 2346, 2351 ... 2412 on 15 of the roofs in the place. Unfortunately when they took out the asbestos last year, they also replaced the locks with simple Masterlocks that do happen to require a key...

A fence with 3 thick steel wire "leads" on it, but none happen to keep the fence closed... Neither did the lock...

The front of said property was quite well secured, with active security guard on a sunday. However, it was an empty asphalt lot, so no idea what they were actually securing. (We didn't explore this, just the factory next to it)

Ditch the girl, and take the darn photos!

That would make you guys a little more "hilariously pathetic" than the security measure.

AGREED!

The owner added this newer fence after a hole was cut through the old fence... problem with that was they just zip tied it to the post lol. Someone cut the zips and made themselves a latched entry. /fail

The only thing they did was put up a sign. They did nothing to patch the hole.
