| | | Awesome update in the other thread. Pretty cool to keep us in the loop as to how our textual idiocy is brought to life. I look forward to polluting the new server w/more moronic ramblings.
You betcha |

The UER server absorbs and stores vast amounts of HV to use in self defense. Does look a little scary

|
Actually, Yes. I am gearing up to spend nearly $10K (US) on equipment. Servers capable of supporting 24 HDDs or quad xeons (yes, with quad cores) aren't cheap. Then again, I make money from my websites... and I host other people's shit for a fee. Sun makes nice boxes. I'd buy them myself but I am too cheap. I wont pay $14K for a box I can get for $10K. Pricey servers, but very nice. Good, reliable hardware.

Amen. Dell sold me my first laptop. It was the first Dell thing I owned and it was also the last.

Approved! Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | http://www.uer.ca/...fid=1&msgid=571370 Is that $150.00 price per stick, or for both? I hope it's for both. I can get 2x 512 for $175, or 1 x 512 for $70. PC5400 DDR2 667MHz ECC Memory (2 x 512MB ) I know you asked for PC5200 and all.... *edit - now that I look at it, you're looking for 1Gb sticks. I thought you wanted 1Gb total. Well, spank my bum.....please? *Another edit 1024MB PC5400 DDR2 667MHz ECC Memory - $143.99 per stick. Best I can do. [last edit 3/8/2007 6:26 PM by LostintheWoods - edited 2 times]

| | | Yeah, so it turns out that it's not just a matter of getting DDR2 667 ECC Registered memory -- I also need to get the same CL number and I think it's PC5300. I found an ebay seller that has what I want, I'm probably going to go with him. -av

Latency is a much smaller number, some times called "CL latency", at that speed for a FB dimm you're probably looking at a CL number of 5.
