Lucky, looks like you got there while all the units were still standing, been living out of the city past few years and only noticed all the new urbex sites this week on my visit home. Looks like they have the tower quite sealed up now

Definitely, but I believe it will just be a meet and greet unless we find something? Nothing really available here to show and tell unfortunately.

Maybe let's start with that approach and anything we DO find will be a treat!

Hello. Once again I make my return.

Has anyone been here? If so, what should I watch out for?

I would add more photos but its downtown, and its location would be too easy to find.

Really cool place. Like 5 stories. Have yet to go in as my fear of squatters is stronger then my curiosity, but I will be soon.

After doing some research, It seems that it has just been abandoned recently. There was a fire there somewhat recently so there is definitely people inside.

I've refrained myself on going in myself for the same reason. There was vid on youtube of someone taking a tour.

I'll let you know what happens. Trying to get a few big dudes together to come with me.

Going off my experience with the car dealership downtown, a group is the best way to keep people away from you.

First actual post on here so please forgive me if it comes out messed up lol

Just wondering if anyone is aware of why there might be a drain and a small basin to catch water and direct it to this drain, inside a storm drain?
I've walked through a few and haven't encountered this until now.

Was this up pipe from a combined sewer overflow spillway? That seems to be somewhat common, like others noted, that they have it that way to either help flow or dilute the sewage in the sanitary sewage pipe running beneath it, as well as to divert as much liquid from coming out of the spillway as possible.

Hi all, I'm just getting into urbex and have been at it for a couple of weeks now. I would like to introduce myself as Nini, big into photography which is what got me into this & I'm from the edmonton area. Been in the process of exploring some old farmhouses out in the country that I was lucky enough to the coordinates to.

If anyone wants to go exploring, I would be down to. I'm really trying to build a nice roster of places so I am down to trade spots as well.

Hey, welcome to UER! There's still a few of us around Edmonton. The city hasn't been super generous to us as of late but there's still a few spots around. Pre-covid we were trying to do monthly meets to talk shop. Feel free to message me.

Rexall is officially set for demolition.... Been thinking about it for years but doesn't seem like an easy task and now there is a crunch time. Anybody tried yet and or had any luck?

Too much stuff has been missed in Edmonton lately. Someone has to get inside, even if it's with permission.

Go, Germ, go!

I'm unfortunately in YVR until the new year.

The news says it could take as long as until 2025 to move the newly-allocated funds for demolition, though?

When the Northlands casino was explored the lower tunnel network was alarmed. I expect Rexall is as well, its quite a fortress as is. I've walked the perimeter and gotten on top of a lower roof in the NE corner but can't really see an ethical way in. I would also assume all the over hanging cameras are functional still.

Functional ≠ monitored ?

I would assume they are monitored, Northlands does have few security vehicles driving around. The office is on the other side of 118 ave can use a service lane beside the LRT to get there in 5 mins. Most of the building is showing signs neglect and bare minimum repairs. I would assume camera upkeep would be too expensive.
