We spent the weekend in your town, I found two bandos. It appears the sushi place and maybe the saloon here are empty. Might be worth a look.

We were greeted with slooow drivers, poor road signage and many misleading online directions... This is why I don't live in Edmonton. Lol.

Also ironically, after being gifted a free hotel stay from a hotel chain because their booking etc. was misleading and they didn't provide breakfast for myself and colleagues when we stayed with them elsewhere in Canada, we stayed at the same chain in Edmonton, choosing one that offered breakfast, only to be told at 8am that morning "Oh sorry, breakfast isn't included when you book using rewards". So the hotel chain treats its loyalty club members worse than its regular transient clientele. *eye roll*

</rant>

Let me know if y'all check out that sushi place. Hah

I spent some time recently in the Toronto/ Hamilton area and realized how bad the driving in Edmonton really is. When you can merge onto the 401 in rush hour with a seamless zipper merge at 130 and we can't do it at 10 here, you know there's a problem.

On another note, I drove past the CNIB building downtown today and it had new graffiti on it and almost looked empty. I was in rush hour and ya know....holy snow so didn't stop.

Another December with the Christmas theme. As if winter wasn't bad enough for UrbEx. I've always considered this adding insult to injury. >.<

It's amazing. It's the reason we love UER over some newer, fancier forum or wiki or wordpress thingy. The fact that it somehow, in this modern age, still manages to exist with that 2002-2006 panache.

Might end up with a window of opportunity on this guy

Also China Town Mall is biting the dust as we speak. Been a rough year for demos in this neck of the woods.

Unfortunate to see the Chinatown Mall being demo'd (from a UE pov, glad something else will go there) was never able to find a way in that didn't involve altering things.

Been meaning to check out an apartment that had a fire for a little while, they had 24-hour security for as long as I could remember.. they started demo this week and looks like security was gone.. but also didn't expect demo to go so fast because I'd say 80% of building is gone as of last night.

If anyone has some Mirama/Mall pics to share would love to see them, know there were a few floating around couple years ago.

EDIT: https://www.flickr.../72157632038666790 found some of the pics courtesy of thegerm

I'd love to go in that theatre. There's sure been a ton of demos. Tough to keep up and even take a run at some of them.

So....there's a new guy in town. Posting pics on IG from the LRT tunnels and did some video going into outfall 101 yesterday. He's hit a few of the well known spots but the LRT pics have intrigued me.

Did he manage to make his way to future station downtown?

That's actually my buddy, we've been exploring for some time. I've only started posting on this site after having lurked for a while. Most of my explorations are with him.

I really like a lot of the pics you guys are posting and have been following for awhile. It's always good to see new faces and it's great to see you posting here too. Are you sure it's a great idea to have his name on the public forum though? Edmonton is a pretty small town. Although...I suppose he's got it on his IG profile so I'm probably overthinking it

I asked him prior to posting it and he was happy with being included in the UER forum. I was shocked when I noticed you guys talking about him and quickly screenshotted it to show him haha. He has a great camera and awesome photography skills. Works perfectly hand in hand with myself being an explorer and him always looking for the perfect shots.

I run a little on the paranoid side. LOL

There's so few of us around we notice new folks pretty quickly.

Past experiences in the community have led us to believe that discretion is the best operating procedure...the local LEA's apparently don't have bigger fish to fry than a couple dorks with headlamps and cameras.

Yeah we both use an alias to try to conceal some amount of identity.

What kind of past experiences have happened? I'm just curious what I should be watching out for

Hit up a pretty cool place today. Some abandoned diner. Not large at all and has easy access. There is a cellar below but it was quite flooded and didnt seem worth the effort to look at.
I took a few more pictures if anyone is interested but these 2 are my Favourite.

2.
