A few odds and ends that have probably met their fate since summer.
Must admit, photo upload without the old widget is quite painful.

Hey I'm new to the whole UER scene, was wondering if there are any beginner spots in/near the city, or if anyone is willing to do a meet up or something. Thanks!

Hey, welcome to uer. I'd take a look through the DB for Edmonton. Most of the publicly viewable spots there are no more, but they should give you an idea of what kind of things you should be on the lookout for.

A little late to the reunion but I would also be interested in meeting up with some people to explore.

As you can see, unfortunately this structure has been overrun by vandals. Really happy to find though. Stumbled upon it by accident. Didn't get the full facility before the sun went down so will return at some time soon!

First actual post on here so please forgive me if it comes out messed up lol

Just wondering if anyone is aware of why there might be a drain and a small basin to catch water and direct it to this drain, inside a storm drain?
I've walked through a few and haven't encountered this until now.

its probably an extra feed into a sewer line to keep decent flow of water in it.

I've seen this before. I'd bet there is a sanitary sewer below this drain. Like thegerm said, it is to ensure a good flow in the sanitary. Maybe it doesn't get enough gray water, or a portion settled slowing its normal flow in that section....

Hmm, my memory must be terrible, because I can't place this. Always nice to see Edmonton's many pipes getting some visitors.

I remember when I visited in 2013, I noted the ongoing construction of the second line, but others told me they were alarmed up the wazoo so I was discouraged from going. If you want subway tunnels, active or under construction, visit me in Korea.

That seems to be what I hear out here, I've been a small ways in through lrt and once from street level but never stuck around very long

*edit* As of fall was still there but learnt today it no longer exists :/… the Mctaggart cabin below in the river valley is gone though. Growing up extremely close I was lucky enough to poke around before it was donated to U of A but still vacant.
On another note has anybody gone to checkout the last tall building left of the other Large U of A demolition project near the farm? Checked it out via “aerial survey” we’ll call it and seems to be no cameras only one night guard who sits in his car.
