I would assume they are monitored, Northlands does have few security vehicles driving around. The office is on the other side of 118 ave can use a service lane beside the LRT to get there in 5 mins. Most of the building is showing signs neglect and bare minimum repairs. I would assume camera upkeep would be too expensive.

We'll probably come to visit again this summer at some point. Can we do a mission then?

City says they’re spending over a million a year on operating costs currently for an empty building, so aside from basic heating and other minor expenses, security is assumed to be well funded. Tread carefully.

Hey! First post, not part of this crew, new to urbex, but always been part of edmonton, watched some urbex, heard about the honorable germ, if any of the older members of this crew want a potential location shoot me a msg, I've been keeping my eye out, also tried uploading some photos but it told me their over the maximum file size, so my bad for no photos from first "urbex trip" if it would even count, just got under a bridge behind some fences and found an open drain yesterday

Good day all.

I am the proverbial newbie to the Edmonton area and forum. I lived here before but moved back to BC but I am back here again. I am staying at a hotel monthly to get work stuff sorted out. So I have some open time on my hands.

While I was plane spotting in Leduc the other day, I noticed that the airport has a bit of boneyard going somewhere along range road 254. It looked like rows of those airfield tractors. I'll look closer next time. It is along a ledge of trees but you probably have to hop the fence. I'll look from the road to see if its worth it. I was talked to by security that day on a different road. They were polite. I told them that I was just plane spotting. They said its fine, just park on the other side of the road.

I also went to the aviation museum at the old Edmonton city airport. While I was there I noticed that they are keeping the old Edm city tower. I had a walk around. Has anyone been up the tower? There is an external set of stairs that goes up the side. It is pretty obvious that ppl have tried to go up. They have a chainlink fence but if you really wanted to, there's a way.

Anyway, what are some areas to check out currently? I am up for anything. It doesn't have to be much. Part of it for me is just getting the exercise.

They built a public park around the tower. Its all done

Oh yeah, I'll be back next month. It'll be nice to be in a city where the temperature is low.

A reunion in the second half of August sounds dope. Weekends would work.

I'll also happen to be in Edmonton the week of the 21st-27th for work and could possibly meetup on a weekday if a weekend is out of the question.

If it helps narrow things down, I'll be in Calgary for work on the 21st and covering Purple City on the 25th.

I could do dinner or something on a weeknight. Anything more ambitious than that would have to be a weekend affair for me though. 26th-27th weekend would work well.
