| | | Posted by Air 33 Axle if you do longer exposures and some flash pops you can get rid of the streaking. Around 2 minutes would work and not eat up too much battery power + time. I need to get that light (I know meta is going to find this amusing!)
| Hm, yeah, I want to go back to the Connaught and play around with some of my strobist stuff (3 flashes, Skyports, gels), and combine that with light painting. 1 SB-600 with blue gel, M 1/2 1 SB-600 through Softbox M 1/2 Nikon D300, AI-S Nikkor 105mm 1:2.5 105mm, f/11, 1/125", ISO-100

| | | Just back from a bit of playing with steel wool. I had in mind to try something with reflections, and so I drove about half an hour to a bayside point where, at low tide, one may walk a kilometre out along a sandbar to a small island. On the other side of the island, the sand is level and rippled, with pools of water, and it was here I thought I might go. The problem turned out to be lighting the steel wool. I was on my own, so I hit the self-timer on the camera, then ran into position, and tried to get the thing burning. My little lighter struggled in the night sea breeze, and often I'd fail completely to light anything before the exposure started, and I'd have to begin again. Fortunately, persistence did tend to pay off, and after a couple of attempts, it would be going nicely. Unfortunately, after a couple of shots I managed to drop the lighter into the water, which completely ruined it, and called an end to my shooting. Oh well...

Very nice spinning, #3 is an absolute ripper!
