Close enough that I would think you are right.

Whatever "the 205 job" is though

Excellent composition on the caboosi Darth_Operator!

I'd comment on yours BK2 prolly, but it won't load for me for some reason =/

P.S. Rat - dunno of it is of interest to you, but there are two old passenger cars off of the main drag in Greenville. I myself was excited when I saw them, till I saw that they had been turned into an ritzy office for a loanshark.

Nice shots, both of you. I love the set up on those old cabeese. Nice Shot.

BK, really cool the way you caught those lights like that. Very nice. Is my little short piece of rail still at that intersection? lol

MC, it's been a while since I've been to Greenville. I don't remember if I've seen those or not, but right now, I'd guess that I missed them. I don't remember seeing them.

No your short piece of rail is on the other side of town near my apt. I actually tried getting it the other day with help. I really didn't want 6 feet of rail sticking out the back of the truck. I know that you would drive all the way home that way though. lol

Yeah that pic is the one where I screwed up and took the pic as the train was approaching. Then I couldn't get the stupid thing set back up in time. Lots of cussing ensued.

Add both incidents to my book of escapades and tomfoolery. Right Rat?

I didn't know this was where you missed that shot. You ended up with a very nice shot anyway.

Today at around 5:00 pm there was an accident on the Madill Sub. in Carrollton Texas.

I spoke with a BNSF worker there and he said that a car went around the gate and got clipped. No word as to the condition of the driver and/or occupants.

I arrived after the car had been cleared away (happened upon it by chance) and I snapped a couple of photos. The train took about 100 yards to stop dragging the car along the way.

When are people going to learn?

Amazes me. Of all the things in the world, getting hit by a train that hasn't left the tracks is probably the most preventable. Yet it happens several times a day in the US.

Really good shots too BK, I like the one with the broken gate arm laying in the road.

I should have posted this story when it happened last week, appropriately enough on April Fool's Day. I haven't had a chance to listen to the 911 call, but it's supposedly a hoot.
Intoxicated driver’s stranded Ferrari plowed by train in Sherman
http://www.kxii.co...ines/42269052.html

SHERMAN, TX ― Police responded to a bizarre accident early Wednesday morning in Sherman involving a train and a Ferrari, and a very lost and intoxicated driver. First News obtained the 911 call made from the scene early Wednesday morning.

Police say around 3:30 a.m. an intoxicated driver managed to get his 2000 Ferrari stuck on a set of railroad tracks on Howe Drive in south Sherman.

The driver, Jeff Sabold, 48, called authorities for help. They told him to get out of the car shortly before the train he told them he saw approaching slammed into his vehicle.

The car was a total loss. Police say low ground clearance may have been what caused the car to get stuck.

"This is a good example of why people should not operate a vehicle while driving intoxicated. Your judgment is impaired, you not only put yourself in danger, but you put everyone who is in reach of your vehicle in danger to include trains," Sgt. Bruce Dawsey of the Sherman Police Department said.

No one was injured. Sabold was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Additional charges are pending.

To hear the entire unedited 911 call, click the video link.

No pictures of the train, but here's the Ferrari, from another news article:

A quick google search on "train ferrari sherman, tx" reveals that the "incident" is a hot topic on both Ferrari and railfan message boards.

it's a shot of where I work. the tank bottom in the foreground is #9 Hi-Density storage silo. the shed in front of that is our train shed and the cars are filled with caustic.
