| | | Posted by alphie Not really in Texas, I live in Missouri but thought you all might enjoy this. It was a train that derailed back in the fifties and was basically left for nature to take back. It's in a flood plain so many of the cars are either buried or scattered. When I was there I counted fifteen cars, all wooden construction spread like massive toys. http://i44.photobu...thecarsedited1.jpg

That is pretty awesome! What kind of train was it? One of those cars sticking out looks almost like it has passenger windows.

That picture is amazing alphs. Were these around the Kansas City area ? Hopefully I'll be back there before to long ! Thanks again for showing me around ! Kansas City was awesome. (except for the unexpected car chase) Here's a caboose I found in Texas City.

| | | This track is abandoned Allen Station. Also has a nearby dam that was built in 1873.In the 19th Century, steam locomotives needed to refill their water tanks about every 10 miles. Where creeks presented sufficient water, the railroads built water reservoirs by damming the creek. The Houston & Texas Central Railway Company built a stone dam at this location as part of their rail line expansion up towards Oklahoma. This small dam is the only historic railway reservoir known to exist in the United States.
