I've also changed the wording, so that it doesn't say "INCORRECT", rather, it says "Good Answer! But we were looking for..."

Oh, great!

It's not black...but not quite white...almost grey....but not really....

I know exactly what you;re talking about, right on!

But then again, this is the accepted practice these days... so no worries...I guess...maybe.

...An additional question might be:

"If you were me, and you came to a fork in the railroad you/ I was exploring, would you/ I:"

A. Turn right
B. Turn left
C. Turn around
D. Stand around in indecision until you/ I get hit by the train

Sorry I'm being kind of harsh... nothing personal... I just see too many peolpe wasting time...and wasting my time... so I have to rant every once in a while.

Unfortunately I felt obligated to read all this, I was extremely tempted to delete about 1/3 of the content of this thread due to it's obvious stupidity, but then I'd be accused of being a Nazi and generate 11 more pages of crap. This thread wasted 6x as much of my time as the quiz did.

My take on the quiz was that it was a brief inconvenience, nothing more. Yes, some of the questions/answers might conflict with my own ethics, and I do think the forum rules should be seperate from the ethical issues. I for one would like to see the ethical issues remain as a part of the quiz, so that Jimmy the tagger who likes to get stoned and throw toilets off the roof of Whitby can find out that most people frown on that. However, the fact that they are "generally accepted guidelines" and not "UE Law" should be made more clear.

Why is it always easier to complain about something after the fact than to comment on it beforehand when it's being discussed? Most changes to the forum get talked about in the Forum Issues section, but a lot of prominent users are too lazy to pay attention and prefer to whine about things that they didn't bother to comment on during the discussion/planning phase. This has already been discussed to death, but I have to say that I find bitchy posts demanding change without offering constructive ideas or advice to be just as annoying as the leet noob posts. Not that my opinion of anyone matters, but I rank the whiners in with the script kiddies as annoying bottom feeders on the forum.

Oh, and I failed the bribery question too, even though I'm a mod and saw that one beforehand

I was thinking the same thing when I read through all of this. You folks should look back and read this whole thread again and see just how out of control you are. For the record, no posts have been deleted from this entire thread. All the garbage is there, completely uncensored.

Just an off the cuff idea here-

1) no quiz to get into the site - wide open with the typical "read the rules you idiot" message when the account is created.

2) Let the mods force an account to have to take the test at next login if they break the rules.

So newbie-boy comes into town - logs in and makes a mistake - gets warned by a mod - does it again - next time he comes back to the site he gets the nag test!

Eh? Eh?

Max would have to take the test every day, of course but the rest of us would only have to see it if we stepped out of line too oftern.

Alright, just to let everyone know.

All "ethics" questions in the quiz have been prefixed with the following:

This question is an ETHICS question, feel free to skip it. This question has to do with generally accepted UE ethics. We do not require nor force you to follow the ideals of this question. It is merely intended to expose new users to some of the ethical standpoints that a lot of explorers have adopted.

This should help with a few of the problems.

Av, quick question about that - is there a 'skip this question' button on the question, just so people won't have to just click a random answer?

I'm really surprised about the meaning of some "members" here in this forum...

Many "members" wrote, they wasted their time while they made this quiz but they apparently have got much time to wrote some sh*t in this thread.

Anyway, this quiz was easy (I got two wrong cause of translating mistakes) and done very quickly

I think Mark was concerned about some people like Gothic Serge who posts some excellent material, but doesn't have the best English skills. This is not to fault Gothic, he's from Russia, it's just that we were concerned that the "quiz" might exclude him for no good reason.
