Hey all, I've done UE'ing before. Just never knew it was such a big thing (ie: having a website dedicated to it). I was just browsing the web for new places to go when I came across here. So, now I'm here and would love to meet some new people and discover some new places. If your in the s. cali area, let me know and I'll gladly swap locations with you as well as go as far as meet up. As long as you don't chop up my body into little pieces and leave me in one of those locations you mentioned to me about before. I mean c'mon, find some place new and exciting to dump my body!

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Efrain

Welcome to many of the new members on here.

A quick observation: I've noticed more and more that new members either put no location information or very vague location information in their profiles. By far the easiest way to become accepted on this board is to network with other locals who are more experienced and know what they're doing. Show your city/state/country. Don't worry, we're not stalkers It'll help a lot to become a part of the community.

seconded, that's what I did. You might have to take the initiative and PM some people from your area, because they may not want to spend time on you unless you show some interest. This is exactly how I hooked up with some folks in my area. Don't wait for anyone to lay it out on a table with a roll of paper towels and a sippy cup, put yourself out there, then get out and git yer hands dirty!

so this is a little backwards as i just found this section but here goes.

i guess i would say my first real exploration was when i was 15. i snuck into a historical building in downtown kissimmee, fl that used to be an old post office. its a two story building with a basement. i made the mistake of turning on a fire hose that ran for 3 days completely filling the basement. to make matters worse, i brought all my friends there. they soon discovered a large room that held county blueprints, and court and city records. all of those documents ended up in the flooded basement. soon after that a detective talked to me and i was busted. i was charged with doing over 100,000 worth of damage. by some kind of luck, all charges were dropped. that was the last time i ever vandalized anything since i felt like i was given some kind of lucky chance.

about a year later i began working at disney world and with the help of my coworkers, i managed to explore every ride and almost every attic, crawlspace, catwalk, nook and cranny. my "trophy" find would be the top of the castle behind the clock. i was the first out of our group that went to the top and soon after that, a few of those guys were fired for going up there. ive been trapped in a few of the rides and almost lost my right arm in the carousel of progress. if it had been my hand, fingers or a small part of my arm, it would have been severed for sure.

i worked at universal and seaworld after that but none of those places ever held any mystery for me so i didnt really care much to look.

many years later a good friend of mine reignited my interest in exploring by showing me pics he took of the inside of xanadu. so i would say its been a few years now that ive really made an effort to take my camera and seek out places.

i started doing photography in 1999 and until last summer, shot only manual 35mm. now i use a canon 20D and photoshop for size/contrast/shadows/highlights.

last year i was lucky enough to meet the crew of RareVisions And Roadside Revelations as i was pulling up to xanadu in kissimmee, fl. they clipped a mic on me and i gave them a tour of the place which is featured on the dvd.

i currently explore around florida by myself so if you have a "leave no trace" style of exploring and want to team up, feel free to contact me.

here is a link to the pbs dvd with xanadu

Hello. I'm Chris.

I just dropped out of my sophomore year to get my final few credits through correspondence. Exploration seems like a better use of my time than sitting.

Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker (that's what UEing is all about, after all), first time poster. 22 years old, college student currently studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai. I haven't really done any major exploration yet, but I'm hoping to change that. My first "exploration" was checking out the now boarded-off Gunkan Apartments which, obviously, I couldn't get into. I took some pictures from the outside that I'll post up in the photography lounge when I get a chance.

If you happen to be in Japan, especially the Kansai region, I'd love to find out about local UE spots (preferably of relatively low risk, considering my amateur skill and student status, but I'd love to at least HEAR about anything). I've done a little research on Japanese websites, but I've yet to figure out a good way to actually track down some of these locations.

hey all, machina here. i've been into urban exploration for a couple years now, but i'm brand spankin' new to this website. I'm still trying to get the hang of this forum. i'm currently residing in so cal so if there's anyone around the area that wants to trade info, hit me up. i'm an abandoned house aficionado. unfortunately, last year i had an accident in a house where i fell through the floor about a story and half down into the basement :x i sustained some herniated disks from that, but that hasn't stopped me from doing what i love to do.

i have some pictures that i'd like to post but i'm not exactly sure what thread they would be appropriate in. they aren't artsy type pictures, more so point and shoot documentation style photos.

anyhow, nice to be here.

hey everyone,

i never even knew something like UE existed until i started talking to Axle. we'd met on another message board and, while chatting thought AIM, he mentioned he liked UE. i asked what that was and he explained (plus showing me lots of great photos he'd taken). to me, it seemed like a great time.

myself, i've never explored any abandoned structures...but my favorite buildings to explore are churches. i see one, i have to walk inside and explore as much as i can (carefully if anyone's around but not during services). i'm in love w. church architecture (esp. gothic) and stained glass.

so, with Axle's encouragement, i've signed up here. i'd like to learn more about UE and urban exploration in general. hopefully, when time permits, i'll be able to post at least a few pictures.

thanks and see you around the boards...

Hi there,

My name is Nate, I'm from Seattle. This site is amazing.
There's this big abandoned building in my city that I found about through this site. It's rilly big and has a lot of cool stuff inside, we like to creep around and play games inside. One time we ran into some other people while we were inside. They scared us and they had radios and earpiece but they mentioned this site.

Does anyone else know of any cool places to explore?

hi yall from dallas, i drive by a mall every day on the way to work, looked closed/run down/ abandoned, so last saturday i stoped in for a look, and today(sunday) took the gf with me, we did a full scan and at the end of our "shopping spree" we were met by an officer from allen, no charges or anything he did not even check ids... any how got home and looked it up online and found this site.

Hey; I'm generally known as Dragon to my friends, because there were too many Daves around at Uni. Never got around to exploring Durham catacombs due to a lack of time and trying to arrange things with likeminded people, but I hear that back in ye olden days (ie: the 1980's) the live roleplay society used to run whole adventures through the tunnel system.

Always been interested, always been too nervous to get stuff done, plus living in a little rural village the options for conquests were always pretty minor (usually wandering around the local farm buildings/haybales/church in the twilight once everyone had gone home.) Was remarkably intrigued by the local telephone exchange - if anyone can explain why it had a warning sign saying "WARNING: Frame Relay" I'd be much obliged.
