|  | | | Hey all, my name's Mark and I'm from the northern Ohio area. I live between Cleveland and Sandusky a few months out of the year, and go to school south of Toledo. I've always been interested in UE and have explored a few places, but I really got into it after meeting my gf/ue partner Kelly (UER name Jellybeans95). There are so many places to explore in my area, and I'm always looking for more.
A few of the places that I have explored thus far:
- Gore Orphanage (eh...it's alright, much better at night)
- An abandoned school in my area (awesome place, best that I've been to)
- An old mini golf/recreation place (I hate vandals, the place was trashed)
- Steam tunnels at my old school (kinda interesting)
If anyone would like to go exploring sometime send me a message, I'd definitely be up for it. Also if anyone wants some info on the places I've been (I'll post some pics of these and other places) message me and maybe we can trade some info.

I'm relatively new to the world of organized UE, but it seems that I've unknowingly been doing it since I was about four, when I started poking around burnt out and abandoned cabins in Colorado and Wyoming. Mostly small-scale stuff, of course, but fascinating nonetheless. Now, here I am in Maine, where I find my interest in the flip side of our shiny, happy society quite unexpectedly rekindled. I look forward to learning loads from this site and its denizens. See you on the boards.

About me - I'm in Ann Arbor, MI. All the constant construction around the university gives me plenty to look at. I'm one of those "fascinated by how things work" guys, and this seems like a great hobby to match that interest.

Working on the camera equipment situation, as of right I only own a "vintage" Minolta SRT-202 SLR w/ a 55mm lens (+ a 35-75mm macro lens somewhere) and a 6.1 Sony Cybershot.
I just moved back from Montreal and I'm taking the year off school so I guess I better start getting in there and gettin'er done with all this free time to pursue whatever my heart desires. Live in the GTA and need/like company? CALL ON ME! I'm always up for an adventure ^_^!

Much as I like photography, I've never had even a half-decent camera, so I really haven't documented much (though sites like these inspired me to try just that at nrph), but my relatively unimpressive list of incursions include a couple of abandoned barns, a dilapidated house (now demolished), several great trips to the northville psychiatric hospital and, the one that I couldn't believe was pursued by others as well: drain exploring.
Here are a few laughably shitty pics from my most recent trip to NRPH that I took with my digital leash --er-- cell phone.

I've never explored anything in Ann Arbor. Love the city though. Any recommendations? Ever since my recent barrage of UE, I've been wanting to send some feelers out for good locations.

I'm a member of Geocaching.com this is mine and my girlfriends username on there.
But we love to explore interesting and unique places.
Two of the areas that we have been too that is on park land were Fort Howard and Fort Armistead Parks in Baltimore, MD.
Those are some interesting places.
However at Fort Armisteadd there are drunks, pimps, prostitutes, you name it its probably there or was there.
Can't wait to explore interesting area.
I live close to the NRL Satelights close to Waldorf. Thinking about taking a trip over their to check it out. Also trying to find out who owns the property.

My gallery definitely reflects this. Since I live up north in NY, in the Adirondacks (when not at college lol), I have an ample supply of places to go. So now I'm looking to expand, and find shooting partners. YAY!

| | | | This might be the latest ever "new member introduction" since I've been floating around this site for more than a year, albeit not posting much.
I'm a Scottish guy who moved to Halifax, NS a few years back. When I still lived in Scotland I read about the Milk Crate Gang and their explorations around Glasgow. I found it absolutely fascinating. Urban exploration is easy in Scotland. There is a lot of history. There are a lot of abandoned buildings factories etc if you know where to look. I wasn't ever super organised about these things; I just saw some opportunities and took advantage of them. Didn't even own a camera.
I started off exploring a former part of the Rolls Royce factory in Hillington - draftsmans offices and managers offices. It looked like they had just left the office one night in the early 80s and never came back. Name plates. Drawings. Typewriters. Magazines. Time cards. All just left in place, an accidental museum of the recent past.
I was fascinated by it, and I still am. Factories and other workplaces are the most interesting things to me, because they tell a story about the history of technology, and because there is a strange spooky quality about a place where so many people came to work each day for a long time. It was so ordinary to them. So much of their hope and fear, boredom and excitement, arguments and laughs happened in that place, and now it's a dusty, echoing shell.
I've never explored an abandoned house. It just feels a little too personal, intrusive, creepy in a bad way.
So now I live in Halifax, and to be honest I'm still finding my way around. I don't have the deep familiarity that comes with spending your childhood somewhere. Most of my exploring is done with Google Earth at the moment, looking for industrial artifacts and other outdoor things to visit.
Because I'm not a Canadian Citizen, I have to be especially careful about staying legal; being convicted of trespassing could mean I lost my visa. So I'm most interested in places which public but unknown (like dams and similar structures in the wilderness) and in buildings which are abandoned to the extent that absolutely nobody cares if you go in for a look. I just don't know where to find them in Nova Scotia!

My name is Alex, and I stumbled upon this site thanks to Google  I moved to the Fremont area of California for college (DeVry for an internet security degree) from Wyoming, and really enjoy urban exploring. I didn't get to do much up there because of the secret service all over Jackson watching over Dick Cheney's house. I haven't really had the time to explore recently, though I have ran around in the old barracks on Treasure Island a bit (the one that caught on fire for those who have been there) I didn't have a camera unfortunately.. I have more spare time now and would like to get more into it. This looks like a great resource, and I look forward to sharing experiences with you guys

| | | | YES!!! Finally! Gaw! haha. The little 7 day waiting period is pretty hardcore. I feel like a member of some highly exclusive club now. Like I've been let in on some well-kept secret. Well, I'm stoked to be on here. I have been intrigued by the concept of exploring places since I was a little kid. I have been interested in photography for a few years now too. I took a few classes in high school on digital photography and photo manipulation. I don't have any specialized equipment in it or anything, just a general interest. I never knew a site like this even existed until a week or two ago when I stumbled across UER. This seems like a badass site. I live on a college campus that seems like it should have steam tunnels and I want to check them out. Will post pics if I ever manage to get into them. Excited to be here, though.

I am originally from Jacksonville, Fl and got beached here in the Atlanta area thru a job transfer. I had no idea there were others "like me" who enjoy wandering and exploring like this, so I have really enjoyed this website and all the hard work put into it by everyone. I envy those of you who have the abandoned hospitals etc to explore as mostly what I've found are houses etc. My eyes are now open to possibilities and I am excited as I will be headed off to explore tomorrow.
