Hey if it weren't for me telling you you wouldn't know now would you.

True I should thank you for that, it hasn't done me much for buildings but I have found a few helpful tips on draining that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Hello!
Longtime Atlanta resident and photographer here, so glad to have found this site, recommended by a coworker... looking forward to doing more exploration, which I have been slack on in recent years.
Speaking of the past though, for all you old school Atlanta folks... man do I miss the old Atlantic Steel Mill. It was a total bonanza for UE and great photography, much more interesting than the monument to faux-village commerce that stands there now....

"hey hey, coming through!"

Hey all

I'm new to this site but have been exploring for about 2 years. I'm from Adelaide, Australia where I've checked out quite a bit of locations. I've recently moved to Brisbane and on the hunt for exciting places here.

i'm into draining and decent sized abandoned buildings or even small houses/buildings that have something interesting to find and photograph. I love the thrill of being somewhere not many people go and knowing that I'm somewhere I'm not 'allowed' to be.

I'll post some work soon!

I too have a passion for the "thrill of being somewhere not many people go and knowing that I'm somewhere I'm not 'allowed' to be." I too have been weaseling my way into small abandoned houses to photograph. Documentarians of abandonment, I see it.

Hiya! My name is Kay. Due to some circumstances that I honestly don't understand I go by Captain Squeaky.
I've been Urbexing(nothing serious just a half abandoned shoe factory and bridges) since I was 15(almost 19 now) I just never knew what it was called.
I'm a Contact Juggler in the works. I love Doctor Who, Pirate re-enacting and old abandoned buildings (especially hospitals) with lots of stuff in them. I find abandoned building sad which is just happy for deep people. I've never been Urbexing with anyone and I wish to broaden my exploration.
I've recently gotten my brother into Urbexing, which I may regret. He's spent the last week searching for locations in our area and found quite a few nice ones. His handle is Ma'il.

I enjoy old abandoned buildings as well. Especially hospitals with lots of stuff in them too!

Hey guys...

The name's Amanda. This is my first time posting but I've been lurking for a couple of days. I decided to come visit from UA. I'm new to the whole photography part of UE but have been doing the exploring part for about 2 1/2 years now. I have been exploring this site & UA to help me start my research process on finding locations. I'm looking to hopefully make some friends who are also new to this & some who are experienced & maybe accumulate some new exploring partners. I'm 21 & I work full time as a customer service rep. I hope to start school in fall to pursue an engineering or architecture degree. I also love art & MICA has always been my dream school. My favorite color is hot pink & although I enjoy the normal girl things I love to get down & dusty in abandonments. The place that broke my UE cherry was Pal State. My favorite place to explore is Pax. (No real names used =]) My favorite type of place to explore is hospitals.

& here's a face to go along with the name...

We shall not cease from exploration, & the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started & know the place for the 1st time.

Hey guys!

I'm not very good at introductions, but here goes'.

I'm a (new, inexperienced) explorer in New York. Back in August a friend and I went through an abandoned suburban house that has been mostly taken back by the nearby forest. It was creepy, it smelled... and I loved it.

It was kinda weird. I'm ashamed to admit that, being a teenager, going in I had every intention of kicking in doors, stealing, and generally ruining the place. But after entering, looking at some of the stuff they left behind, and just seeing what there was to see, I didn't want to anymore. To me, it was beautiful. In the end we broke nothing, we took nothing (except some pics), we only moved some things to make it safer to walk.

Ever since then, I've been looking to get into UEing. I found this as the first result for a forum, and here I am.

I've been reading the posts for the last few days (I love how you have to wait, it must really cut down on spam, and it forces you to read before asking already answered questions), and this house is NOTHING compared to what you guys are doing. Only made me want it more!

Which is why I have my sights set on an old mental hospital nearby. I'll be sure to apply some of the advice learned from here!

I have only one pic that I'm semi-proud of, and unfortunately I don't have a high-quality camera.

Destroy not = have not

Sounds like you learned key philosophical and fundamental aspects. If we all destroyed everything we wanted to, there would be nothing for others to experience. Exploring is beautiful- besides the action and adventure, you sometimes find yourself standing in abandonment with tunnel vision, full of contemplative thought. Then you get home and kick yourself for not taking enough pics. Lol! Well, the pics aspect to UE is a whole world of its own.
Keep exploring!
