Sadly I am a noob without boobs. I'm a noob to this forum, but not to ue in general. I live in MD outside of DC and have explored a lot of the places in this area. Mostly looking for new friends to go exploring with. If anyone is interested in pics of Henryton and places like that I have a bunch, but I figure they are already pretty well cataloged. When I was younger I was an EMT and got to go onto St. Elizabeth's property which is what really got me interested in abandoned buildings in general. Sadly now DHS is ruining all the fun there.

Anyways it is really cool to find this forum and I would love to chat with anyone in the DC, MD, VA area!

Hello to all

I was looking around the web for awesome stuff to do and found this site. Id like to get involved with trips to some of these awesome places. I have done exploring myself and enjoy it a lot. I became interested after many summers of exploring an abandoned national park in my hometown of Pensacola, FL. If you know what im talking about it is called Fort Pickens and is a massive complex which was closed for years after multiple hurricanes. I found that my favorite time to visit this fort was when it was road less, forgotten, and devoid of all people. I look for such another experience in the area I know live.

I Live in the Tampa, FL area but am willing to Travel for something truely Interesting.

Hey all

I'm heading to Sydney soon and will be checking out some places while there?
Does anyone know of any good worth while abandoned buildings or drain? Or if anyone is keen to come along and show me around, let me know.

I got off from a lousy first post, so i would like to correct that with a proper intro. I got intro-ed to UER via Steed, while searching for fellow urbexers in Asia. (a hello to two other friends here as well)

I'm into photography, urbex, basketball, football, married, writing and growing old. So here's a big HI to everyone here.

Hi, I'm just getting into the hobby of ue. I've explored a few places, more when I was still in school. I live in Vermont and most abandoned buildings don't usually get shoveled and everything has been covered in several feet of snow all winter. All of the local places I know of are inaccessible or at the least not as fun as exploring in less snowy weather. I hope someone can show me some new places that are still accessible and enjoyable in winter. I'm looking for people to meet to explore anywhere and everywhere in Vermont. I'd also like to get to know some drains under Burlington. When it gets warmer and I have more time this summer, I'd like to travel to and meet people who know of good sites in upstate New York. I've lived in Vermont for 12 years and I'm always excited to learn more of and experience its fascinating history. I'm also interested in capturing images to show other places they would never see in a way they would never see, and to preserve the memories rooms contain.
I hope to meet some nice people here and explore lots of beautiful new (old) places!

My name's Nick. I live in WV and have been interested in UE for a long time, but only decided to do it just recently. I've been to two sites, but I don't think they'd technically even be considered UE. It's been the longest 72 hours of my whole life I think waiting to post, just reading the forums seems like it'll be worth it. I've never been good at intros, that's all I've got.

Hi all... Denver n00b here from Five Points. General photo addict, hiker, camper, explorer, and soon-to-be UE. I've done some tooling around the Five Points neighborhood, checked out some mines, and poked around Gilman a bit, but nothing much beyond that.

I'm looking to meet some Denver folks who want to kill some time this spring/summer in the urban jungle, snappin' some pix, and having fun.

For those interested, my currently sparse photo website -- akphotodenver.com

Best,
AK

Having 3 days before I could post anything I've searched for someone from my native country but failed. So it seems to be first off from Moldova.

So let me introduce myself - an urbex from Chishinau, Moldova, named Urtica = nettle.
Started urbex 10 years ago just for lolz, now I could show U some really interesting and exciting places from my native city and around. So look forward to my posts at Europe region forum.

Nevertheless my current location is other than Moldova, i.e. Tallinn, Estonia and I'm gonna stay here for considerably while so I would be really glad to find some mates from Estonia to explore and hang around )))

Hello to all. I'm from southeastern Pennsylvania (U.S.A.) where I am lucky to have lots of abandoned places to explore. My background is in filmmaking and currently my friends and I are working on a documentary about urban exploring, so we've been doing a lot of it lately.
I'll post my trailer updates as they come along and if you are all interested I'll let you know when the documentary gets its finishing touches.
Glad to be a part of uer!

YES YES AND YES.

Sirs and Ladies!

I do believe I have fallen in love with this forum. Forum members, allow me to make love to you! (verbally, if you please to do so.)

This is pure excitement. This is inspiration. Good god-diggity-damn there is quite the multitude of immensely talented, adventurous, daring and just plain awesome people contributing to this forum. This is just... mind bogglingly cool, I am the epitome of exited.

The waiting period before being able to post is possibly one of the most sensible policies I've encountered, which specifically guides
a newcomer such as myself into browsing around quietly, hearing the voices of those who have been here a while, and simply exploring.

Av, I commend you. I believe you to do a fine job. 'nuff said.

All of you aforementioned contributors to this lovely haven, I commend you.
I look forward to many years of sharing your passion regarding this particular hobby. I believe it to be very important with benefits
both personal and and social. I am so glad all of you exist.

Also 'nuff said.

I stumbled over this forum while attempting to find news articles regarding a particular location in my second hometown that I've grown quite fond of over the years. I've always felt a sense of awe and a kind of familiar affection towards it since I was a little kid on my dad's boat. It closed sometime in 2006 and has since had a few of its outer buildings torn down and removed and a group of scrappers were busted for doing what they do best. Apparently it's going to be torn down sometime this year and turned into something ...not industrial looking (a park slash boat dock slash some sort of something or other...?). Vonnegut would word it all better, but I'm sure he'd agree to place a "So it goes." right here.

Considering it's the largest building in this tiny little city, it's going to leave a great big gaping hole in the landscape when it all comes crumbling down. And it's for the better, I'm sure.

But I couldn't help but feel it would leave a big gaping hole in me if I didn't do something with the chance I have before I don't have that chance any longer. And that chance would be to explore and document the hell out of this place.

So I listened to my voice of reason and one night decided to do something about it.

So, rewind to a little over a month ago:

During our first good "blizzard" of the
season, I decided to go for a two and a half mile walk from the house. 19 degrees F, 18 mph winds, icicles hanging from my scarf, it was then or never for
me to meander on in. No traffic and close to zero visibility gave me the
reassurance to satiate my nagging itch. Standing and taking in the sight of this
concrete and steel skeleton, my heart was pacing and my mind was made up. I was going in.

I was armed with full knowledge that I would regret it for the rest of my life if I simply turned around and walked back home. So I went in. As I closed the door behind me I began to really appreciate my one-on-one time with
this beautiful work of industrial architecture.

Admittedly, my first entrance was lacking in premeditation (I hadn't brought a flashlight, for example), but the experience was nonetheless exhilarating. I got to at least get up to the first roof level and was able to get a few somewhat noteworthy pictures snapped. Then I left, perhaps not completely satisfied, but at least micro-triumphant.

Fast forward, and my quest for info on this facility leads me to this fine forum, this wealth of knowledge and individuals, and something I didn't even know had a name let alone a dedicated following: Urban Exploring.

I have been back once, took some better pictures, remembered my flashlight, and actually got to poke around the place for about four hours.

It's pretty dern big.
Yesh.
And I intend on going back. I still have more pictures to take, and more time to spend.

In the mean time, I'm going to continue bringing my pictures up to a standard of quality that I feel fairly comfortable posting for you all to enjoy, and shall be posting soon!

So, er.... Hello! ^_^
Glad to be here!
