Nice looking 2002's ... they look better then mine. Hopefully they find a good home and don't die there!
|
I know, they were way better looking than my '72 when I started with it!

Mmmm... Corvair and a Microbus. Any shots of the rear of the bus?
|
no shots of the rear. But i'll be back there within the month so I'll grab some and post them. If I remember correctly the tailgate is gone and the interior is full of motors and parts

Cool, I'd be interested to see!

Not a Mark III, it would have to have hidden headlights and is a different body style. That's a Lincoln Continental coupe, the body style that would have had the suicide rear side doors if it was a 4 door sedan. They made the coupes from I think 1966 to 69. The Mark III came out and kind of cannibalized the sales figures of the regular coupe, which was sold in limited numbers to begin with. They're pretty rare actually, that car should be dragged out and brought back to life before some ass vandalizes it. Mark III:
Here's a Lincoln Continental coupe like the '68 model pictured earlier...also note the CA black plate still on that derelict one.
"Walter, what are you doing, man?" |

that's what threw me... i knew the Mark's had hideaway headlights. I wasn't aware that there was just a coupe option without those headlights. Those old lincolns are just an extinct car up this way, i've never seen one in the flesh.

Theres a junk yard near us that has 6 4 doors on their lot. One has a good engine, another good body, yet another with a really nice original interior. If a guy bought all of them you could mix and match enough to get a really nice "original" car

Yeah too bad they're the square tails, I'm just glad my 69 is rust free.

I'd still rock a square tail. Miss my roundie though. She was a blast.

Full points to anyone that knows what this is:
The answer is not as easy as it seems. Unless you're a real car freak. I thought I knew what it was, but was wrong. Neko.

I think I know what it is, a Hillman Minx license built by Isuzu. Slightly ironic as most cars now made in the UK are built by Japanese companies.

Is it a Toyopet Crown?
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

Brilliant, and ironic indeed! Someone who really knows their cars then. The bodies supposedly vary, but to my eyes it just looks like a Minx. Neko.

I knew that Hillman Minxes were made in Japan under licence, but had to cheat slightly to find out which company. Datsun made Austins around the same time.
