I would totally drive this thing around, it had great lines and wasn't much bigger than the generic hummer 2's you see on the road.

Posted by Agent Skelly Yes! They were made under license because even the Japanese were impressed with the Jeep during WWII.

Every year, the head of the neo-Nazi-esque right winger group rides in a Willys MB around Yasukuni Shrine. 'Why a US Jeep', I asked. 'Ahhh...', came the reply. 'It is a captured Jeep'.

It's a '68+ Beetle frame with some kit car body. That's pretty neat looking actually. There's an early Beetle door leaning on the back of it too, but too early to be from a Bug using 4 bolt wheels.

Found this hunk of rust while rafting today.
The only intact parts of it were the rear brake drum and the steering wheel and gauge cluster.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

^^^ those are almost as good as this: http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post0 but I think he's got an entire thread on the parts he posted, not just pics.

Going by the factory looking tow hitches, I'd say they had Dana 44's, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the trouble to pull a damned Dana 35 rear

Now that I'm looking at it clearly, the brake drums from the front and the rear are still intact. I figured it was the rear because it was opposite the dashboard.
