The USA because if it's unique constitution and capitalism system is the richest country on the planet, with the best research facilities in the world.
In times of famine, depression, disease, war, etc that cause other countries to crumble, the US has stood fast and remained to overcome.
France and the EU on the other hand are boned.

China can absorb the sickness with ease but not the economic consequences.
This will derail China as the world manufacturing super giant.
Manufacturers were already regretting the ways things were going with China.
China's lack of transparency is completely unacceptable as is their blatant intellectual thefts, etc.
This highlights another huge reason to limit business there.

I think it would be awesome if America started manufacturing most of its goods. I love items that have little USA flag labels on them and say made in the USA. particularly my Danner Boots made right here in Portland Oregon. The other good thing about America producing a lot of its goods again is, it will probably decrease global warming, harm on the environment shipping stuff every day. And increase job options for many of us working in retail and the food and beverage industry. AKA there will be more places to work that don't require a college degree and or apprenticeship that will be willing to train and provide solid career opportunities  . Fantasy Rant. Also all these warehouses and industrial complexes that would have to be built to facilitate the manufacturing industry would provide likely excellent photo subjects as well as places for us active industrial lurkers to infiltrate & or rooftop!

and maybe I will turn into a leprechaun in the next ten minutes...
I worked in paper manufacture for eleven years for International Paper and was union for that time- United Steelworkers Local 5. I worked in the chemical part of the mill (pulping and recausticization) as well as paper machines, finishing and the warehouse. I have been burned (chemical and thermal), almost crushed by a 6000lb+ rolls of paper, almost fallen 100ft off one of the pulp silos and had a stairway give out under me during my career.
trust me, manufacturing in north America is a dying proposition. And besides, most people don't want to do that kind of work anymore anyways.
