Any data out of China is worthless.
Italy and other free world countries are the only reliable sources.

Maybe someone in Italy can explain this better...

Throughout all of recorded history, the folks on the peninsula have had a healthy distrust of government. The last big attempt at Make Italy Great Again resulted in its leader getting shot and hung upside-down in front of a gas station.

They have also have a lot of North/South friction going on with Rome sitting right on their Mason-Dixon Line.

I watch the politics in Italy and it seems almost miraculous that the entire peninsula hasn't shattered into the collection of kingdoms, duchies and feudal Papal statelets that existed before Victor Emmanuel II.

I do commend them for their patience.

Yeah, good point. In another month or so we'll really have first hand info...
Still it isn't near as virulent as small pox or polio...

I'm a pragmatist.
You lack vision and a understanding of the depth of this unfolding disaster.
We have done as much as practical to mitigate this pandemic.
With no food or money the society will quickly start to unravel.
The veneer of civilization is very thin indeed.

Treating it largely as we do the flu will limit the damage to the infrastructure.
People will die either way.
Our duty is to limit the damage for the majority, not save everyone which is impossible to do.

no, you're pretty much an ill-informed sociopath. Anyone that has read any of your posts on this matter can see that.

I'm just guessing, but I feel like a bullet in the face of the orange-tard might just be North America's best hope.

more hate speech from a moderator. I thought Av-X already spoke to you about this? you were basically the sole reason the politics board was shut down.

I hope the FBI raids you.

If you like to digest your info via charts and graphs (in other words, if you are a total nerd like myself), here is a site with really interesting data.
The material is well presented and although I didn’t check all of their sources, the data appear to be mostly objective - at least as much as possible in this day and age:

Shame on Wang. It is irresponsible to call for the assassination of the president. It would be much better if he died by his own hand, either suicide or by trying one of his home remedies.

Yeah, that was in bad taste, and I apologize. But how am I supposed to hold my tongue when greed takes priority over human safety? That would be immortal.

It worries me that the US, just 100 km south of here, seems not to be taking this shit sufficiently seriously. Maybe we're over-reacting up here, I dunno. But bowing down to the money-makers over the health interests of the population at large seems like exactly the wrong thing to do. History will tell.

I think every civilised nation who has had to cope with a large outbreak of the virus is looking at America with their collective heads in their hands, as instead of actually doing what is needed to try and halt the rampant spread of it across the country all America has done is capitulate to the money-makers and corporations. The deaths of hundreds of thousands, potentially millions of people is on their hands and I am seriously scared for some of my friends over there.

Also in some more positive news in the UK, the growth curve of deaths that was growing almost exactly the same as Italy's has diverged and is now following a much lower growth path, so fingers crossed that continues and we don't end up, ultimately, in an Italy-like scenario.

Greed? More death's would follow a economic collapse in a country of 370 million than this virus would ever hope to achieve.

There is a balance that must be struck.

Only four dead here in Qc as of yesterday. Same number seems to be holding up today, so amen to the aggressive approach of the local authorities.

A couple dozen in the ICUs last I read. Best wishes to them and theirs.

You just grossly contradicted yourself.
To spite what the tainted press says the USA will fare better than all the other infected nations.
That's my prediction.

You underestimate the contagiousness of this virus.
Far worse than any flu strain in that regard.
Give it another 4-8 weeks... probably hell will be breaking loose at 3 weeks though.

In the end the quarantines will not work as it has already disseminated.
Only a vaccine or enough people getting sick and recovering will stop it now.

I understand it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better. But I'm one to take pleasure wherever it's to be found. Shit is gonna get better. Eventually.
