I just read an article that the Coronavirus might not have originated from China, but from.... the USA!

Coincidentally, the bio-weapons lab at Fort Detrick closed in late september 2019 due to the fact that there was a risk of unintentional/accidental pathogen release outside the compound. Apparently the outbreak started soon after this closure, well, according to this news article anyways:

What are your thoughts on this? Communist propaganda? Fact? Lies?

Exactly. But that economic disaster is because of the panic. Shutting down transportation and shipments is due to fear. We don't close ourselves off to imports during flu season, we shouldn't be closing our self off for this...

Disease is a part of the natural way of life. There is no way to absolutely defend against it. A vaccine will probably be developed and that will help, but in the meantime, all the paranoia and fear and attempts at isolating the spread is ultimately far more damaging than the virus itself. This isn't even a "bad" one. It's highly transmittable, but it's not Ebola...

But I guess my stance is entirely based off of using the flu as a constant for what is "normal." The flu is bad. But it's normal. If you aren't afraid to live in a world with the flu then you shouldn't be afraid to live in a world with COVID-19

Another big part of the problem is that even though the death rate is “relatively low,” it’s still several times higher than that of the seasonal flu. In other words, if we just went on our merry way business as usual, we would almost certainly have a Spanish Flu v2.0 in terms of fatality rate. 2% of the global population would be a catastrophic number of deaths - even if less than half the world contracted the disease and the fatality rate was “only” 1%, those numbers would be unsustainable and overwhelm every health system on the planet.

Before you even ask the question, you should always check your source(s):

https://www.google...al-research/%3famp
Overall, we rate GlobalResearch a Tin Foil Hat Conspiracy and Strong Pseudoscience website based on the promotion of unproven information such as the dangers of Vaccines and 9-11 as a false flag operation.”

The titles speak for themselves and conspiracies like these are recurring themes runs throughout their “news.”
The Zionist Idea Has Never Been More Terrifying than It Is Today.”
”The Real New World Order: Bankers Taking Over the World”
”What’s Going on with the Arctic ‘Doomsday’ Seed Vault?”

This would have been a more interesting question had you cited the new book the Chinese government just published, where this question was in fact raised. The book lavishes praise on the country’s (Xi Jinping in particular) response to the outbreak and how through their quick and assured actions, The Communist Party manages to save the day, the country, and possibly the world (the latter is too soon to tell of course).
All of that said, the answer to your question is still, no. The virus was not part of a US conspiracy to undermine China, nor did it originate outside of China.

The facts overwhelmingly agree that both the Communist Party of China and GlobalResearch.ca are full of shit.

you know, you are never ever going to be taken seriously as long you keep posting fox news links... they are collectively so full of shit that when you walk by their studios, it smells like a sewage treatment plant.

more like "Faux News"... about as close to state television as we're going to get here in the United States Of Ridiculousness.

Ya know, you will always be unhappy if you keep listening to stuff you don't want to hear.

Try CNN they have NO bias whatsoever and I predict you will like their spin!

I see opinions are starting to sound like Yosemite Sam on bad hair day.

I think we can all sit down calmly, take a stress pill and think things over.

Justin Trudeau is running Canada from quarantine.

Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency.

Despite Andrew Cuomo's heavy handed response, COVID-19 cases are up 30% in NY.

People are losing their minds binge buy toilet paper.

Sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

I'm kind of curious to see what the "positive" impact on our hobby is from all of this. One of my favourite explores ever was the Regal Constellation Hotel, which (although already failing) was ultimately killed off as a result of the SARS crisis.

A friend of mine was supposed to move country to start working there in April, he had the contract signed and all. Well, the country (Poland) just closed their border. Will be interesting to follow how these measures will affect all of us.

I might be getting laid off too, considering how the economy is doing. Oh well, more time to explore maybe?

Hopefully this can blow over soon, but that doesn't seem likely. Finland is doing the least amount of preparing of the Nordic countries so if a huge cluster is discovered here, that's probably why.
