I've heard of truckers boiling off all of their brake fluid from overuse.

what theyre talking about is brake fade, where the pads and drums get so hot they cant slow down the truck anymore. if the brake fluid has any water dissolved in it, this can boil and create steam pockets in the lines, but the vast majority of heavy trucks have air brakes.

jake brakes are only one type of dynamic braking system; exhaust brakes and hydraulic retarders do the same job without making any noise. jacobs brakes are the most effective on heavy trucks and sometimes the only option. they are great for preventing brake fade and reducing brake wear but some truckers forget to switch them off when they aren't needed. on level streets in town where the limit's 25 the service brakes stop the truck just fine.

Brake fluid boils too, that's why performance cars and bikes use DOT5, although it is not used in ABS applications because it has more dissolved air in it, that makes problems bleeding when the motor packs churn it up. And semi's don't run any brake fluid for that reason, it would all boil, DOT 5 boils at around 500F. And someone must have figured exactly how far up a runaway truck ramp a truck might go. I've seen tracks right to the top

it's not so much that it's bland (which it is), it's the fact that there is no sporting version, no SS model, no coupe, (from what I have read) no manual transmission option... this is typical GM bullshit. What have they sold the most of of small cars? Cobalt Coupes. 2-doors. Not a fucking bland little beige half-Korean bastard car.

by the time my SS is paid off, it's either a Fiesta RS (hopefully with a turbo, 3 door package) or a Camaro.
