It sounds to me like we have a big enough group of poor/cheap people that don't want to spring for a hotel that maybe we should make the whole thing a big camping trip?

Reserver maybe 4 or 5 good sized campsites at a nearby national forest (or whatever it is you have in Canada). Have everyone show up with tents and trucks.

I dunno, I was planning getting a hotel/motel room but I think it would be a blast to rough it and have a big ol' campfire and tell our UE tales...

I was planning on capming too...even if my some mirical I had money for a hotel id rather camp its allot more fun...they dont like it when you build fires in the hotel room
There is a camp site near by? good
Like commander chainsaw was sayin mabie we could get a bunch of sopts, or a big group of my friends used to rent one of the family or group sites. Its usually better that way, they are usually seprate from the other camp sites so you dont have to worry about disturbing anyone elce. Im pretty sure its cheaper that way too

Why is marijuana not legal? Why is marijuana not legal? Its a natural plant that grows in the dirt. You know what's not natural, 80 year old dudes with hardons. Thats not natural, but we got pills for that. We're dedicating all our resources to keeping the old guys erect but we're puttin people in jail for smoking something that grows in the dirt.

I thought Ninj was trying to organize places for people to crash here in Toronto...
Hey Ninj! Care to illuminate people of how that is going or went?

Hi all. I hope to be coming to see you all at OPE'94 all the way from Australia. I am looking for somewhere quiet and reasonably sleep friendly to stay. I tend to need a lot of seep due to a disability I have so while I may be able to stay up late I would have to sleep in late. It might make sense to go to sleep early if most events are day time events. I tend to get uptight if I don't get enough sleep, so noiesy places would not be ideal. I'm also heavily against drugs so staying with people who do drugs would not be ideal either. I know, picky picky picky but I need my sleep and don't react well to cigarette or other smoke.

Since I will be travelling with a video camera and digital still camera I'll need some secure accomodation so tents are not ideal. I've been tossing up between staying at the Toronto YHA Youth Hostel which is easily located down town about a minute and a half from a station. I've stayed there before and it was cheap, quiet, comfortable and secure. I'm sure group rooms could be booked. But I'm also on the look out to stay with some one because I'd rather share my money with fellow explorers and learn a bit about them and the Toronto scene.
So if you don't mind sharing house with a sleepy, non smoking, non drinking, non drug taking and almost respectable Aussie explorer please give me an email. My email address is at http://urbanadventure.org/2003/email.htm

Cheers, Jason / Panic!

Actually, I've been encouraging people to make their own arrangements. I'm happy to give out-of-towners information and recommendations, but I'd rather not coordinate the lodgings. I prefer to focus on the events.

Is that dissability called "being tired" perhaps? Usually when people stay up late there tired so they sleep in. Its all rather logical.

If you can afford to go and have a way to get there, I'm sure you'd be welcomed.

And I'm glad soemone brought this up again. Since I've decided that I could save money by making the 9-hour-or-so drive to Toronto rather than pay a couple of hundred bucks for a plane ticket, I need to know when the following will be made known to those serious about going:

1. How are the plans coming along or this?
2. What about events, meeting places, etc.?
3. Advice for those not familiar with Toronto (cost and location of cheap lodging and transportation) ?

Of course I don't expect this to be announced publically...

Well if you take an idea for a geek like me...
I have been going to anime cons so I know a thing or to.

1. Talks, have big name UErs talk about tricks and stuff.
2. Games, Like set up flags around in places and who evers team can get the most wins.
3. Random fun stuff.
4. If people will pich in money (I will if I can make it) rean a hige plave to do a huge UE contest.
I will think of some kind of idea for rules if you like that.

D-low, I think a good number of us will end up camping (I know thats our plan). It will be June, so weather should be good, and it will be pretty reasonable to get some group sites or something.

I forgot completely about that idea! Thanks Jester, though I'd still have be able to find out where the rest of you guys plan on being, in terms of the place, but save that for PM's.
