Ah if I kind get a ride with some one I can try flying or some thing.
I really want to go.

I'd Hich Hike but that is not that good of an idea in the US anymore.
But I am looking for people to ride with on a online forum and they are people I have never meet before so it's almost the same thing...
Well whatever.

I have not been around long at all and I am a loner (For lack of a team or friends for that matter) but I am willing to really think about flying up there for this.

But I really love Cons and I want to do SOMETHING before I go insane (Well more insane)

Yeah, cons are lots of fun.

Fortunately, I'm within relatlively easy driving distance of Toronto, and often fly there for work, so I'm quite familliar with the city.

I'll probably bring one, although if I can't find a good waterproof case that I trust I'll just bring my old cheap laptop instead of my good one. I definitely need something to store photos though, I'm sure I'll take more than the 128mb my camera holds. I'll bring a cantenna and stuff for free internet access too

I think most people who will have their cars shouldn't have a problem with bringing a laptop. I intend to bring mine if I can go.

I'll be bringing my iBook (getting it friday! whoooooooooooo!), and perhaps some other equipment for networking.

Actually, I'll probably be bringing a crap-load of all kinds of computer and exploring equipment. Way more than I need, I'd imagine.

If it's actually true that that's what he's doing, I imagine he has a high-gain antenna hooked up.

First of all, I want to know what's up with this wimpy, "I don't want to read all 19 pages of this thread," crap! I read 'em, and you can read 'em too! (Okay, maybe you don't have as much free time as I do.)

Anyway, on topic, I think I too may be able to make it to this event. It depends, of course, on the same thing everybody else has posted again and again -- work, money, etc. Depending on when all the upstate NY, or even PA, people are heading there (and via what route they're going) I might be able to catch a ride. (I'll take that to PM, though, to save the wrath of everyone here.) Then again, if I do go, it'll likely be limited to the weekend days (late Friday the 4th, all day Saturday the 5th and morning through early evening of the 6th).

So, will there be any events for people like me who don't carry twenty-sided dice in a pouch next to my flashlight? :-p Maybe us older people can sit around talking about how things used to be like in the old days... like the 1980s... (Okay, I am not so very old, but it sounds like a lot of people here are worried about high school exam schedules, so... )

-- mat

Edit: bad word choice

I will have a laptop available OPE94, for those that would like to upload thier photos. I will setup a FTP/HTTP server, and upload them when I am at home each night. I don't go anywhere without it, so people like me who have tine amounts of memory in thier cameras arent SOL..

Whatever happens, we need to take a picture like this one, but of the famous or important explorers from all over the place.

The temptation for photoshoppery is too great. Perhaps when I get home, I'll make a spoof. This would be a great T-shirt.

Crossfire, I think I detect a trace of sarcasm there.
