THD (the explorer formerly known as Annie Hatchet) suggested a photo scavenger hunt as something for the now, but I think this might be something worth doing for OPE94 - randomly draw people into teams of four, give them disposable cameras and a list of things and places, each worth a different value, and set them loose on the city for the day! At the end of the day, the team with the highest score wins!

Me likey Ferret's idea.
Maybe a graffiti hunt or just an item hunt (take a picture of the UE tiem, not TAKE the UE item). Just running more ideas off of the original.

>_< Mochi, back from the weekend and boy, do my boils sting.

Well, I actually am planning on coming for the Expo, but it's so far off it's hard to make any concrete plans.

I think that's the general feeling about the organization of the Expo, as well...

True, but its never too early to begin planning. Especially for things like hotel stays, or whether you'll be staying with someone else an all. Roof over head + sleep == nice sometimes.

Thought that I'd just start reviving this whenever an idea struck my fancy...

Another event for the Expo - a screening of the 1984 classic movie, CHUD. This came about from the recent Beginners Guide to CHUDs and all that. Hell, if nothing else, it'll give us all something to laugh at..... a lot.

Fantastic idea, DT. what would be even cooler was a screening of CHUD in a drain room or abandoned space.

Wow, that Would be awesome! But how would we screen it in an abandoned location/drain?

Video projector and VCR or laptop, a few batteries, and an inverter. I've thought about doing a slide show somewhere in the same way.

id like to go to OPE94 if at all possible, but i have no idea where/when ill be doing what next month, let alone next year...

anyways, if i go, id volunteer my laptop, i got an extra battery, and i should have enough charge in one battery to make it through one normal length movie(i think...) only thing is, my laptop is tiny, like 12" screen, so it wouldnt work for more then a couple people.

You might want to go into your profile and correct the "Offset from MST" field to whatever your offset is. Here, I made that post at 6:33 PM, 16 Oct 03.

Now, who has a video projector?

I know some explorers who have a computer projector, I can't promise anything but I'll see if I can borrow it or get them to come along.

Anyone whose school or municipality is having a surplus auction can probably find one cheaply, but be aware that the bulbs are the most expensive ($100+ each!) and the first thing to die with those).

I had an idea about that.. randomly assigning groups. It would be fun. You beat me to the draw. I can't go though, just don't have the cash.

What the hell sort of name is "Office Products Expo '94"?

The best ever for a UE Con. Get with the program, or go to the CHUDs.

I think it's a cover, but the cool thing about the Con is that you can call it whatever you want. I'm starting to warm up to OPX94, personally. I was very against the title in the beginning...

Its definitely fun... I mean, when you're talking to a friend about OpEx94, other people who hear you are like 'What? WTF are you talkin about?' So the name works perfectly.
