the problem is is that you can't really get a good grasp on who people really are on a public forum. I can tell you that the guys from UEM were not at all what I expected(except for Wotan for some reason )

And yet, for some odd reason, I have a feeling meeting Jester the first time will leave me with a black eye or broken rib or something, in not on accident then by me saying something lame and getting "pewnisht" for it.

>_< Mochi, and get punished I shall.

Aww Mochi, I couldn't do that. Don't I owe you a hug ? hmm, no, it's Chud I owe a hug to for changing his name
I am most definitely not a violent type unless forced into it. I'm the type that will just tell someone flat out if they annoy me to just not bother talking to me and leave me alone.
I get to look forward to a punch in the mouth from Crossfire, yay !

I doubt I'll be what people expect anyways...

Aww... So much love here.

No one wants to meet me though =(
That's ok though. It's all good. ~goes to sit alone in his corner~

I think I'll be looking forward to meeting most everyone there, and just seeing what everyone's different ways of doing things are. Though, admittedly, I'm looking forward to meeting Jester and Ninj and Crossfire an mah fellow DDR phreak Mochi...

Oh, and for everyone interested, I'm pretty much the same way online as I am offline ^_^

tall dark and handsome men with ripped shirts and long blond hair.

such a disapointment

actually I really wasn't sure what to expect. I thought you might all look like Sam(cjbsexx)since I had met him a few weeks before I met all of you. The mind has a wonderfull way of playing tricks with you.

Speaking of, we need to locate an arcade as soon as we're there, sos that I don't go fooking crazy without a vent for my DDRaholism.

Curious, aside from the d20 game and DDR, what other non-UE stuff can we expect from some of the people there. If we can wrangle up some hookers/she-hobos then I say an orgy is in order...

*stunned silence*

Err, I mean, uh, what I meant was, umm... (BAMFs away)

There's lots more people I look forward to meeting besides the ones that I listed earlier, that was just some that came to mind (and of course you're on the more complete list Darktreader). Honestly most of the people on here will be cool to meet.

My personality (or lack of) is pretty much like on here, but in person you can tell that i'm joking way easier (and not just being ignorant).

I think I'll be making reservations at the campsite soon, and will probably tell them to tag it "OPEX" so others that are making reservations can all do the same and try to have them place us in adjoining spots so it will have a big campout feel.

And yes... I will be bringing my trademark tabi boots (might even have a new very cool pair straight from Japan, if my friend over there comes through).

I know of at Least one arcade that I KNOW has DDR. I can even bring you there, it's pretty sweet.

Jester, how about bringing some Tabi boots for the rest of us? Try and sell people on their use! *sees Jester standing on a soap box hawking Tabis...*

As far as expectations go, I try not to have them. Without them, you can never be disappointed.

Then again, I'm not coming anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter what I expect.

I guess I can get that hug later, Jes.

I don't know about the rest of you, but in reality I'm nothing like what my online personality claims to be. I'm actually a tall blond woman who likes to explore in a skintight bodysuit, and I really live right here in Toronto. All the Alaska photos were faked, and the photos of me as a man were photoshopped extensively.

Actually, I'd believe it all, Freak, except for the photoshoppery. The pics of you are unaltered. You're just the ugliest woman EVAR.

To be honest, I don't care what people think of my online, because, online, I'm a pain in the ass. Folks love me more than buttered toast in public.

Hm...
If you have any ideas for a cheap way to get up there post them for me will you. (I don't wish to read all 11 pages of this)

What are gang laws like in Toronto? If a group got caught, would it be a plurality of singular instances of trespassing, or would a mandatory sentence from gang laws be likely?

Funny you should ask... There have been articles in the local news about improving gang laws here in the wake of several murders last weekend. Currently gang laws are next to non-existant here.

Being from Australia I know most overseas UErs from Paul Rice's mailing list, so I don't know many people here. I am looking forward to meeting Ninj, Freak and Jim Hollison if he comes. But I suppose I will get to meet a lot of people I did not expect, and had not heard of, but will become good friends with. I am really just looking forward to meeting people with similar interests and openly talking about UE without everyone saying how weird I am.

Also, does anyone else know of any other Australians planning to attend?

Wow. Hell, I didn't even know that we had Australians coming to this little shindig.

And yes, for anyone wondering, I'm still planning on making it out there, if only to meet everyone. I've psyched myself up for too long to drop this thing now.

We should get all of our folk together with their tripods and get the massive group panoramas - its looking like we're going to have a lot of people coming! ^_^

Well, I think I'll be changing plans slightly. At current rates, I could fly from Dallas to TO for 450 usd...or...for 40 dollars more, fly from Houston to Buffalo, NY and get a rental car for a week. Those interested in a ride (if you are along the way) and/or pitching in some cash for the rental contact me by PM.

Cost of a trip to Toronto with company provided Impala: $0. Money saved to buy beer in Canada: Priceless.
Molson at the local Rite Aid vs. Moson in Canada; I don't think it's the same beer (but it won't stop me from drinking it, enjoying a couple of Armadillos while I type).
