| | | Hey, I joined this site long ago but never actively participated, so time to change that. My name is Jimmy, I'm in WI, I was a photography and journalism major in college. I was introduced to exploring by my uncles and cousins in western New York and southern Ontario. I've been at it on and off for 12 years or so now, explored with a few crews and I'm finally putting my own together. Other than UE my interests are photography, current events, urban issues and economics. Pleasure to finally meet you all and I'm uploading a photo I took a few years ago when exploring locally. Cheers!

| | | Hi. We're a small team (5 or 6, depending) of urban explorers from Grand Rapids, MI. We all work as journalists or photographers in other media markets and this is our additional project. We started calling it offthegrid a while ago, and it pertained to everything from urb. exploring to scoping out dive bars and haunts and getting press passes to various events to gonzo cover. We take photographs and video of our explorations and generally tend to stay in and around the Midwest. We've explored multiple locations in our hometown (we have a lot of factories, some half-burned down, as well as foreclosed homes), but have also done urb. exing in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Detroit, of course, is great, but Ohio unearthed several hidden gems. Some of us prefer train stations and factories, others have their hearts set on amusements parks, murder homes and hotels.

| | | Hello! I'm Taylor, I live in the Barrie/Simcoe area, and I'm a tad new to Urban exploration, used to check out old buildings, cottages, forests with my mother when I was around 4, but haven't really done anything since. I've known about Urban exploration though for a few years (Didn't know it had a following/name till about 4 years ago, just figured sometimes people checked out these types of places for fun, not as an actual hobby), but haven't really bothered with it until now. I'm in the process of getting some gear together (Respirator, gloves, flash lights, etc), and getting some friends organized to join me. I'm actively searching for local areas to check out, and post in the Locations DB that haven't been already. Hope to maybe see some of you soon! Good luck and be careful on your travels! | | | Yo. Obviously, my name is Material Fiction. My friends (and no one in real life, actually) calls me that. For the moment, I'll remain Material Fiction. I live in NC but am actually a repressed Yankee. Heat annoys me something fierce. I'm weird, secretly socially inept, charismatic yet offensive, and a little off in the head. I've done parkour (a few times), into martial arts, hiking, photography, fiction writing, roleplay on forums, and abandoned buildings. I did not know that exploring abandoned buildings had a name until the almighty interwebz taught me so. I'm actively searching out people to do this with; seems a lot more fun with a group. It's a pleasure.

| | | Hey everybody! I've been exploring mostly abandoned houses for over ten years. I currently live in Toronto but might soon be moving to Montreal. I love finding abandoned treasures along country back roads, from Niagara to Parry Sounds and in between.

| | | Posted by cupcake21 Hi everyone, My name is Lisa and I'm a professional photographer in CNY who is just getting started in UE. Until recently I've explored abandoned houses by myself (when they appear safe to do so), but I now have a partner who is also new at it. I've spent the last few days reading through the forum and realize we have a ton to learn. Anyway, I'm excited to find this forum and hope to have a chance to explore with some in the area someday. We have our sites set on abandoned psych hospitals in the area but realize we need a lot of experience before attempting them. I'm attaching a photo of one of my first explorations.

| | | Hi everyone, I am new to this site but NOT new to exploring! I am into more rural sites, and have been exploring ever since I was a kid growing up in Montana. It has been a long time since I've actually been anywhere, but the bug has bitten! I hope to be able to post some photos in the near future!

| | | Hey, everyone! Let me start by saying I could have put more thought into my username. I didn't realize you guys had a whole thing going on about hipsters. I just get called that a lot because I don't like dubstep (I don't see what that has to do with anything, but whatever), and so I always go by this name after that stupid meme. ANYWAY, now that that's out of the way, I look forward to becoming more active in this hobby and on this website. So far I have only been to open sites and never inside, but a while ago when I was looking for a replacement taillight for my mom's minivan, I found myself in a scrapyard for hours on end, just utterly fascinated by all the cars' disuse and total accessibility. I finally decided to fuel that excitement by getting into UrbEx, and assuming all goes well I should be going to my first location today. It's a small one-story house, but it's close to me so it's good enough.

| | | Hello, my name is Mat! I'm new to urban exploration in a formalized sense, but I have always enjoyed hiking, camping, and generally exploring places I'm not allowed in - which have always held a fascination for me. I've never tended to be prepared to go far in though - which is what I've been working on researching and finding new and used gear and clothing for for a while now. I'm from the Cleveland, OH area, and my first plans are to hit up some abandoned factories I know reasonably well, followed up by abandoned towns, rural buildings, and stream routing tunnels. From what I see, me and my girlfriend should be able to use this site to hook up with fellow Cleveland UE'rs for trips. Here's to a great UE experience, Mat

| | | Well hey. I'm a student in South Florida whos got an urbex bug, if you would call it that. I really enjoy photography and over the past year or so I've gotten into urbex and all that. I'm really not sure what it is about it that enjoy so much, but whatever it may be, it has got me hooked. I've stumbled upon many locations and I'm always looking for more. I just wish I knew more people that had a liking for a combination or urbex and photography. I guess that's why I came here.
