Ft. Worth spot?

OK folks. Cajun actually comes in thru Ft. Worth. The suggested explorations are in Ft. Worth. We are overdue for headin' out west.

Anyone have a favorite Meetin' Spot in Cowtown?

Tarrant County is terra incognita to me. My stompin ground ends at I-35E.
Hanging a map of Ft. Worth on the wall and throwing a dart!

seriously, having received no suggestions on a spot for meeting, I have emailed Robert B and asked him what spots meet our requirements.

You guys have great suggestions for thing to explore, if anyone has an idea 'bout a place to meet, speak now or no bitchin!

I know tons of awesome drains in Ft. Worth, but not many abandonments. Cowtownclimber knows a lot more, he should chime in :p

Astro is coming up from Houston for sure, and she is going to stay with me here in Denton. But I know we're going to go wherever the meetup is and chill there, then go hit some drains in Dallas afterword, so if anyone wants in on that, or if you're traveling far and want a place to crash overnight, hit me up.

Robert B says:

"There's a pizza place downtown that we've been to before, that is a reliable, cozy spot. It's convenient to the rail, and a quick drive or bus ride to the Stockyards. It's in an old building with cool architcture, and the second floor dining area has a great vibe."

So that is The Spot. IDK the name of it yet, but we will be there in March.

There's a lot of really good locations in that area, p.m. if you do end up making the drive!

Hi all,

I have lurked on this site for a long time, reading the posts..especially for the local Dallas Fort Worth stuff. I haven't been exploring in a long time but am really interested in getting out again.

I decided to make an account and pay the dues as well.

I'm located in Mansfield, south of Arlington. Most of the places I have been to in Dallas are gone...some not.

Just wanted to post (to post) and say Hi as well.

Welcome Scott! Good to have you in the group.

You should try to make our Meet n' Greet in March. You can meet some of your fellow explorers and learn some of our traditions. One of the traditions we maintain is that new members get to pick up the lunch tab ;)

Probably not going to be able to make the March D/FW meet.

I can't really do a lot out of town until I get a full-time job, and that's not gonna happen in time. Hopefully April, because I haven't done any exploring since mid-December.

Haha, that sounds like a great tradition ;)

My luck 300 people would show up.

Alright Boys and Girls! The date is drawing near and this has promise of being a great event. We have explorers coming in from far and wide and need more locals to show up and show 'em some stuff.

Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to make it due to a schedule conflict (I know you will all be disappointed , and I know I'm a hypocrite ), so I'm posting to encourage more of YOU to show up!

DFW Meet n' Greet is the longest running meetup event on uer.ca. It is a tradition worthy of your support. It is a chance to see some old friends, make some new ones, eat some pizza, drink some beer and tell some lies...I mean... some true stories of your exploits.

More importantly, DFW Meet n' Greet is whatever you make it. Be there or (like me) be square!

80-90% chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms on saturday so you drainers are going to have to come up with something a little more feasible for the group to do. as i said before - i wont be going in any drains either way but i know that has been discussed. i would advise against that now. even echo lake might be dodgy in the rain...thoughts?

I'm feeling a trip to a meat packing plant if it's raining. Security won't be wanting to leave their little caddyshacks and it will keep visibility down. Eh?
