This is mothers day

Implying Astro wants to spend the day with her mom.

Ok, I guess Mother's Day wouldn't be the best Sunday to have a Meet n' Greet.

We will need to try a Sunday some month soon, for those who can't attend on Saturdays.

Bahaha. No. I was just making the statement. I haven't spoken to my mom since January. I was just making the statement so that no one would have that realization last minute

Since the reminder email already says "Picchi Pacchi" I think we should stick with that as our meeting spot.

Since bdgr knows the area, he should pick what we explore.

Since Astro is so eagle-eyed at catching my mistakes, she should do all my proofreading.

Or you could just read what you write before you post ;)

Heck, that would lead to me having to think before I speak. My colorful writing and speech are part of my charm.

Probably the rebar place. It's close, and cripple accessible (unlike that damn FAA place we did where I couldn't even get in).

I'll try to get to the pizza place early and hang up a no-trespassing sign. Also, I'm 6'6, 400+ pounds and will be wearing a UER T-shirt. If you see someone who looks like that, it's probably me.

We will try to make it there early too. If the van is outta the shop, we have a chair to deliver first.

Your "No trespassing" sign is a great idea. Another good idea for recognizing explorers (I got off another thread on uer) is simply placing a flashlight on your table.

It was time.

The city was littered with tourist, and every other street corner contained a yuppie with a digital rebel and 10,000 dollars worth of L glass. Soon, not soon enough, Fort Worth would slip into disuse and become another big abandonement. But that day wasn't today, and we had serious business to take care of.

We drove through the tourist like something analgous to something really going through a large amount of somthing else. But the lack of a good analogy wasn't going to stop us -- as every operative knows, get there early and stake out the place and for once we were there early.

Pikachu pizza is a pokemon themed pizza and Gyro joint right in the heart of downtown Funkytown. Out the windows, the once vacant blackstone hotel towered above us, and me and Seripham selflessly sat vigil waiting for the rest of our grim gathering. It wouldnt be long.

While Seripham social engineered the combo to the cypher locks on the upstairs bathroom, Keaven, Texas Mike and I told war stories of adventures passed and fallen heros. There were ears and eyes everywhere, and we didn't know who to trust -- certainly not PKRearden when he arrived 5 hours late. And certainly not me giving direction to the rebar plant.

In determined silence we departed the Pkachu's and headed each headed our own way. Spliting up was the thing, it would confuse any of those trying to follow us. Then we find that we had all parked within 10 feet of other so it didn't really matter much. But we were on our way, or we were till I got lost trying to get out of the parking lot. it's confusing, and my car has this really big blind spot --

More to come.

Oh so TOTALLY true ... though you forgot to mention the black helo's that kept passing over the street while we were eating our Squirtle meat pies.

I arrived first at the rebar plant, only because I gave some of the worst directions possible to the members of our party. Saying Fuck all to stealth, we lined our cars up out front like a used car lot and went inside -- or we did after everyone called me and get better directions. The size of the main room at the rebar plant is unnerving, and upon looking up at the rafters 60 feet in the air, Seripham and PKReardens girl decided they had to climb it. Being more gravitationally disadvantaged, I stayed on the ground. We could hear them, but not really see them for most of the time.

I spent the better part of an hour with these degenerates, exploring the big room, watching the owls fly around, and hoping that, god forbid, Seripam should fall I could get a shot in mid air.

eventually, me and Texas mike splet off to the main office. Keavev approached from the other end. Mike went through the door, made a hard right into a side room and there was a tremendous explosion. Nobody will ever be quite sure what happened to mike, and he wont talk about it, but he staggered back into the hallway a shaken man.

We had three desperate tasks ahead of us

  • Find the sign in sheet that Slow and Astro left us
  • Find and dispose of Astros coke she left last time
  • sit on the couch of great glory

it didn't take long to find the sign up sheet, but none of us had a crayon/pen. Mike went out to get a pen and found himselfs surrounded by police -- but they just waved and moved on. he returned with the pen, and we all dutifully signed the sheet...in bigger letters than Astro and Slow.

Oh, and Astro? She didn't leave us any coke in the cup. We were all dying of thirst, but the thing was empty. Is that anyway to treat your homies?

more in a minute1.

Finally, after signing in we made our way to the couch. it's a lovely leather upholstered number just like the one Jim Rockford had in his trailer. I will be watching the website like a hawk, and when the rules get changed to "Take only photos and cool leather couches, leave only footprints" I will be renting a pickup and heading out there.

The rebar plant still holds many mysteries. There is a locked, room sized safe that we couldn't gain entry into, and to add to the security measures, whcih consisted of fuck all, some jackass had stolen the track system for the drop ceiling. That means the entire place is ankle deep in itchy fiberglass insulation. I'm still itching.
