Just wanted to say hi. I am new to the site and UE. I may have a free weekend coming up if anyone is interested in showing a noob around. PM me if you are. I'd just like to say that the photography on here is absolutely awesome. Makes me wish I had a better camera.

Hello! I'm a newbie UE that lives in Massachusetts. I've always been interested in old and abandoned buildings so when I found out that there was a group of people around the world that did this I had to jump in!

I'm a college student for Criminal Justice (ironic?) I also work part time so that doesn't leave me much room to jump about. Me and a small group of friends are starting to get together to explore together. But not until we learn as much as we can and that's how I found this site!

I hope to be able to learn as much as I can from the people on this site!

Thank you, and happy exploring!

Hello everybody.
My name is Jason. Alot of people know me as Ratboy. I know I know. Not very interesting. I work for the railroad and started scrawling rat603 on railroad cars I come across. I live in Byron Illinois but grew up in New Hampshire (hence where the 603 comes from). I love this site. I spend hours upon hours looking at different things on here. I am really into exploring. I am mostly into retail but love any abandoned structure. I just started dabbling with exploring in the last year. I would love to do some exploring but I don't know where to start and don't feel right going in alone, so if someone is in the Rockford IL area and has some pointers, please hit me up. If anyone else has some ideas too, please let me know. Thanks fellow explorers.

Hello fellow explorers,

I am new to this in the states since I have had much travels overseas. I would like to start here in the states and find people close to Ocean county that would like to take me with them in their group. I have substantial funds to acquire equipment I would need and I do come with my own camera. I used to explore when I was younger in South NJ where abandoned factories and houses were plenty. I have seen a few people on here that I have seen before so if you know of me or have seen me somewhere, say hello and we can go to a good coffee place to talk of the next adventure.

Hey, I'm new to UER, but, I'm no beginner in urban exploration. My real name is Ian, but I use Ken as well (favorite nickname). I've been doing UE for 7 or so years.. Just to give you a small hint of the places I've been:

-Abandoned radio station
-Old log mill
-Abandoned railyard
-Abandoned coal mine and facilities
-Abandoned amusement park
-.....Well, I could be here all day.

I love abandoned buildings, the bigger the better. I have a great team of friends who share the same interest that routinely join me on urbexing adventures. So far, none of us has gotten hurt [that's a miracle considering some of my friends], and we have never gotten caught. I'm an avid photographer, but I prefer landscapes and close-ups to old buildings.

If you are from the surrounding area of southern NH and would like to know where to find some interesting sites, message me. I know of quite a few places most locals wouldn't know of. I've kept a few places secret, but if you ask, I don't see why I wouldn't share some of my favorites.

I'm not up for much travel outside Southern New Hampshire, but there are hundreds of great places not far from here, so I'm not limiting myself.

About myself:
Well, I'm a outdoorsman, an explorer and an avid martial artist. I teach traditional japanese martial arts, and I am an aspiring filmmaker. I hold down 6 part-time jobs, yet I find enough time to relax with a book and my cat..

Thanks for reading,

Ian

hello all,

I'm oldman79, or just oldman. The 79 part is my birth year, not my age. I'm 30, and in the New England area. I love photography, and exploring, but have to admit it's been years since I've done any exploring. I'm looking at getting my feet wet, and seeing what's out there. I'm new to New England; a transplanted southerner, so this is a whole new arena for me.

Good hunting,
Oldman

Hey whats up? I am based in metro Detroit currently Ann Arbor. I've been exploring places since I was a kid but growing up in northern Michigan, my "urban" exploration has been limited to abandoned houses/barns. I am always off on the weekends so if anyone wants to get together in the Detroit are, please feel free to hit me up!!! I can't wait to start rummaging through Detroit with some fellow explorers!!!!

Hi I'm Seargent Dan. I'm from Sydney, Australia.

I've been exploring and photographing abandoned buildings in Sydney for over a year now. Also into military forts and getting into drains.

I've been searching the posts here for Sydney explorer groups because the scene here seems to be dead. I've emailed the cave Clan and had just a basic reply which I presume was a generic hello they send out. Nothing since in over a month. So I am looking for real explorers who get out and explore a lot. I just wanna explore and see stuff. I don't want to have to join clubs or go through probation periods. I'm a bit past that.

So if anyone wants to get out in Sydney and go exploring (or 4 wheel driving and camping) let me know.

Finally waited out the 3 days before I could post anything. I've been lurking here for about a year but finally read some stuff that made me decide to join in on some of the discussions.

I'd done some draining and minor explores back in high school. Nothing epic, but fun anyway. I've done some great drains out in Saratoga and Cupertino (got some pics of them last weekend and set them up in Google Earth to try to trace their exact route). Got into an abandoned nightclub in Campbell (sorry, had no camera way back then). Explored a super cool house in Almaden area that had been abandoned partway through construction (currently I believe it was finally finished as I can't locate it). Fun, but I want more.

I'm looking to get back into UE as a minor hobby when I have the time. I'd definitely like to get to know some locals with more experience and go do some stuff. I'm certainly up for anything that is good cheap/free entertainment, and abandonments certainly fit that requirement. My current goal is to go see Uhmunum before the Open Space people neuter the site. Hopefully will be able to meet some people and generate some interest. I've been wanting to go there for a long time, but nobody I know wants to go, and I'm not up for doing it solo.

There's a few places in the south valley area that I've noticed that need some checking out. When I get to them I'll see about some pictures.

I'm not a huge photographic nut, but I do what I can with my cheapo point and shoot and my Droid. I simply don't have the funds to buy a fancy rig, but would like to in the future.

I work with a Civil Engineering company, so I have the ability to look up property information on sites in the Santa Clara County area if anybody would find that useful when planning stuff. Just PM me here and I'll try to get back with what I have as soon as possible. I have a lot of experience with alarm systems, electronics, hacking stuff, and generally being clever that may be useful to this community. I'll certainly add my 2 bits in when possible.

I'm up for draining (prefer large boxes and pipes larger than 6' diameter as I'm 6'5...), remote abandonments and low-key stuff that's not a huge risk and doesn't require a lot of equipment. I prefer exploring on evenings and weekends. The wife would kill me if I were sneaking out to do stupid stuff at 4AM. I'll likely move up to better stuff after becoming more familiar with getting into places, but for now I'd prefer to not be arrested/keep my job/not leave my family without a caregiver. If anybody's planning stuff and need transport, I could help out with that. I'm currently in Morgan Hill, but am interested in most of the South Bay Area and possibly farther if it's something more interesting.

You'll probably find that they aren't running newbies because of the time of year. The probation is very practical - you explore with the Clan while you are on probation so you're not really going through probation because you sent them an email.

There are also people in the Clan that explore by themselves or with close friends - joining the Clan doesn't stop you doing those things

There are a couple of SydClan guys on these forums so you'll probably hear something from them.

Cheers,

Doug.

PS. I forgot to mention that SydClan is full of freaks ;)

Would the Cave Clan answer their email
Well Beanz sure the Cave Clan may be the legends of the underground, but they can't answer their email for shit. My girl friend and I plus my mate have been trying to get in touch with the Sydney branch for over a month. We got a half hearted reply then nothing. Pull your finger out! We'd rather explore with experienced people so we don't end up trapped in Lurline Bay but really, you guys are effing hopeless. A MONTH and you're too slack to reply to three additional emails.
i mean get with the groove, go with the younger generation. Maybe you guys are all too old and grey to keep up with the needs of a newer generation of drain explorers. I geuss what I'm trying to say is, we don't need you any more, and you are no longer the legends you claim to be. Either be legends and step up to the plate, or be the bogus you come across as and treat new people like shit like you have been doing. {quote}

I don't think you should wait by the pc for an email reply from the clan. that moment won't be coming.

That's okay mate. I was getting fed up with waiting anyway. I'm sure there are others in Sydney that explore things. I really don't have an issue with who I explore. But I do have an issue with waiting ages for a reply, and then replies like this. You guys come across a bit over rated.

Hey Team

My name is Spike I have been exploring for 10+ years, regularly posting on www.slackninja.com (currently down) and I have frequent these forums a few times and been a member here for about a year and thought it was about time I introduced myself. Even tho NZ is a small country we have still had some great adventures to name a few, Hospitals, asylums, military installations, religious communes, live infiltration....everything from your standard hobo infested abandonment to high profile secured facilities, I have a small but highly skilled team that I work with, we currently have some projects on the table to do with our very large hydro electric power industry so hopefully news to come on those

Here is one of our hospitals that has sadly been demo'd, but it provided us many many nights entertainment, and no shortage of maglite wielding vigilante security guards, but thats a story for another time!

My name is Crystal McCormick. I'm 31 years old and I live in Palermo California, Yes there is a Palermo outside of Italy lol. Anyways I have always wanted to get into UE. I have loved photography ever since I got my first camera as a kid. I also love old decrepit buildings and the history behind them. I figured that UE would be an awesome way to combine the two. I am looking forward to getting to know you and sharing my photos with you!!! (o=
