Hey Everyone, my name is Kevin and I'm from South Jersey. I've been exploring neat places for quite a long time and love it more every day. I photograph a lot and most of my stuff is on Flickr. My screen name used to be Kevinhooa but it's just been recently changed to Owls Fight. I look forward to using this forum and see so much more of what's out there.

Hey, I am from the Dayton area in Ohio and I am very interested in establishments, especially the rarer ones like subway systems, missile silos and nuclear power plants, haha. I love the photography aspect and have become really critical of my photos. I hope to see more buildings, feel free to contact me if you are in the area!

Hi,
My name is Kristin and I am from Southern New Jersey. I have been a photographer for years and always had an interest in abandoned building and towns. Only over the past 6 months have I really gotten in to exploring. The forum is great and you can see a lot of my pictures on flickr under kdc123!

I'm V, from RI. Always liked poking around in old forts/construction sites (especially to take pictures), and wanted to step things up a bit. Bring on the factories. (though sadly, RI hasn't got much that isn't already picked over.)

Hello. I am relatively new to UE, but I have really gained interest in the past year after doing a little exploring (mostly draining) with friends. I hope to learn more about it s that I can try new things, and maybe find others nearby to explore with.

Hey guys. I made an account here a few months ago and then forgot about it. Today, I saw a thread on a website I frequent with a link here and remembered about this account.

Anyways, I live in California, I'm 17, and I want to start urban exploring. I was wondering what everyones views on taking things you find while exploring were? The way I see it, the place is abandoned so the item most likely won't be missed. I also like to collect junk haha.

Is there a thread somewhere about interesting things you guys have found while exploring? I'd love to see what y'all have found

Howdy.
I'm a bitter old man. I came across UE as a freerunner. Thought the two might mesh well. I might be open to some sound advice, if'n you whippersnappers can come up with any. Meantime, I'll shut my trap and try to pay attention. I'll letcher know if I do anything worth the trouble of lettin' ya know.
Toodles!

Nice, I've been attempting to get started in parkour myself in some of the old forts near here, with varied success.

It's friggin awesome. But I have a hard time sticking with things that don't really have a purpose. I can't go, "'Ey! I'm a-gonna climb-a dat wall-a!"*
Meh. What's the point, unless the wall goes somewhere?
I'd suggest if you're having a hard time getting into the groove, looking into MovNat. If you're just having a hard time with the dynamic, keep at it. We all go through that, and I'm just starting to come out of it myself. It all comes together with time and energy.

Sorry for the derail, folks. We'll get this train moving in no time!

*Yes. Yes I totally did just type that in an Italian accent. Such is my shame.

Hey UER.
I'm From London Ontario and have been doing urban exploration since before I knew there was a name for it, My first few runs where in abandoned houses in the country, which have since been demolished...I think I was 5.

since then I just end in up places I shouldn't be for no reason but shear curiosity, and normally add a touch of camouflage to the equation, I've been on top of malls, school, stores, gas stations, ...you name it,

Id be nice to learn the tricks of the trade...
and a few pointer from time to time wouldn't be a bad thing.

thanks UER

Haha, well it's more for practice and to make it more worthwhile in the future- already pretty nimble, but I need to work on jumps and such, not to mention learning to overcome hesitation. And build up strength a bit more. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely put in a more serious effort when it gets warmer. If you're looking for something worthwhile to do, try some climbs of buildings? A-la www.nopromiseofsafety.com

Hi, I'm Abby. I'll just start off with how I found out about urban exploration and whatnot. Like many of the people I've read about on here, it seems that I've had a fascination with the abandoned and derelict buildings in cities and towns for quite some time. I didn't know that there was a name for this hobby, or even lifestyle, of exploring these places. I read something online about it, which combined with my love for photography, seemed to be my dream. This was a few months ago and I've kept it in the back of my mind, unsure of where to start. A few daydreams were spent on the subject, but I didn't do anything about it. Just a week or two ago, I was sitting in the photo teacher's room at my school and I noticed a photography magazine. Due to my boredom, I started flipping through it and came upon the featured article of the issue. It was all about urban exploration and how photography is used to document these desolate locations before they are demolished or converted to be used as something else. The sidebar stories of experiences that photographers have had made me so excited and urbexing didn't leave my mind the whole day. I took this as a sign to take action. I came home and read so much about it and then eventually, I joined this site. So, here I am. I've never done any exploring, but I can't wait until I do.

Also, I'm from the Pittsburgh area and I've noticed quite a few people are from here, too, so that made me even more excited. haha

One last thing, I use a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I have just 2 lenses and no fancy lighting rig going on. I like to keep things simple.

I believe that is all.

Hello, I've been lurking long enough and decided to play. I travel extensively with my job and have a cheap digital camera to take photographs of the ruins of a nation.

More travels and pics to come.
