Hey Everybody!

My name is Cameron, and I'm 24 years old. I live in Raleigh, NC and have been into photography for about 7 years, but got into UE about 2 years ago. I've only gotten really serious about it here in the past month when I got my first DSLR Camera. Since then I've been out non stop. Here is a link to my flickr account if anyone would like to check it out:

Hi!

So, as you concluded, I'm Disfigurator - an metalhead and Urban explorer from Latvia - and not the only one, registered here. Two of them I know in person, if that matters.

Anyway - I do UE for quite a long time, but most intensive in couple of past years - bought Silent Hill video-game, found some local buddies and restarted to do UE on regular basis. I do run picture/story blog of my explorations too, but for now it's completely in latvian. Adn I'm a moderator of latvian UE site http://www.bradajumi.lv - my UE stories and pictures are posted there too. But non-latvian users (i.e. all of you) can check out some YouTube videos I made of my UE pictures (and music of respective artists) here: http://www.youtube...6&sort_field=added

So, why do I registered here? Simple: UE quickly became a stable part of me and it's just the next step I'm taking towards, well, publicity and interesting UE discoveries and well-spent time here. Yes, definitely I'm looking towards becoming a full member.

Cheers!

I wonder what happened to Wormazz. He closed his accounts everywhere and disappeared from UER.

So Hey,

I'm clearly a new member and have been interested in getting back in to UE for a while now. Did a bunch of exploring back when I was an early teen. Then pretty much put it out of my mind (not knowing anyone that gave a crap about crawling around in tunnels and boarded up buildings).

I've been into amateur photography for 5 years now and really enjoy my DSLR. So after my friend stumbled across this site I got real excited for jumping back into this hobby (now armed with a nice documentary tool as well)!

Thanks to all who have obviously put countless hours into this resource, I hope to be involved for many years to come.

-B

P.S. - very excited about this Saturday's prospects...charging my batteries now...

Hey there all you fellow drain divers, fence crawlers, and nosy buggers in general. =)

Long time fan and follower of the site, and finally decided to get on the forums and plan a few adventures.

I was born and raised here in Toronto, in the good ol' subdivision of Scarborough (Scarlem, Scarberia, yeah yeah...) where I've been lurking in every pipe that would fit me since I was a kid. Toronto's a wonderful city for UE, which probably explains why there are so many of us here. I got a chance to see some of the great locations in their heyday, cutting my teeth on places like The Brickworks, Whitby Psych., and the malt factory down by the lakeshore before they bolted that sucker up beyond all hope of entry. I've kind of made it my personal mission to dig up as many interesting locations here in Scarborough as I can... a lot of explorers, particularly drainers, don't seem to like the place too much, mostly because our parks and rec guys are pretty damn vigilant about sealing things up and keeping 'em that way. But I've found some pretty amazing places, like the creepy abandoned house of the 'Michigan Man' down in Guildwood (again, back when it was still relatively undiscovered and worth checking out ;). And even after growing up here, and spending years poking around every abandoned looking lot and manhole, the place still has some wonderful surprises like the outdoor semi-abandoned Western/Early 19th Century TV Set we dubbed New Bedford which had practically been in my backyard for years before I knew it was there. Or the Waterworks, back when their back lawn was so filled with old cranes and toppled cement walls it felt like walking through a post-apocalyptic future.

There still has to be hundreds more sites here other explorers have found, and who knows how many more none of us have explored yet. Guess I'm here because I like to swap stories and arrange new adventures. Looking forward to getting out to the meetups and doing just that.

wormgear -noun, verb (slang)
1. Boots, coveralls, and other frequently muddy gear worn by drainers ("Take off your filthy worm gear!")
2. The act of getting unstuck in a corrugated metal pipe, in which case the only escape is having your buddies spin you around like a corkscrew

I was wondering what everyones views on taking things you find while exploring were? The way I see it, the place is abandoned so the item most likely won't be missed. I also like to collect junk haha.

Is there a thread somewhere about interesting things you guys have found while exploring? I'd love to see what y'all have found

It's seriously frowned upon, since, even though a location is abandoned, it is theft. It's gets a little greyer when a site is about to be demolished, but it's still frowned upon. It will also get you torn a new one in most of the forums here. Just warning you.

I imagine I wouldn't introduce myself here were I a photographer, but I don't own a camera. I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I've been keen to exploration since about the age of eight or so when I would go off into the woods or vacant houses on the street I lived on. I got into my first building about two years ago and this past summer I'd been getting into them on a very regular basis up until the fourth of July when a group of us encountered some spooky dude stealing copper. This past month, the regularity of my urbex outings has exploded back though.

Typically, I go with Budda (I think that's his name here) and he takes pictures. I myself haven't any material to contribute, but I am just as loyal to the concept.. And that's why I've come here.

Hey everyone-

This really should of been my first post - but I already posted in a few other topics.

Wanted to say hi to everyone - went on a few explorations on my own in the past 4 years- recently started to get more "professional" with a few people here in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul area).

There is a pride flag, I wear it proud, though probably the straightest gay man you will meet. Looking to do this more actively and who knows - maybe get a match out of it?

Look forward to the good times - thanks everyone!

Hi,

Name is Marek, living in Pittsburgh. Interest is primarily in industrial sites, historical and abandoned, or modern and active. Steel mills tend to be especially interesting due to all the steps in the process and the massive scale of the complexes.

I'm interested in meeting up with other people in the region with similar interests.

I have no interest in vandalism or theft, but will hop a fence or two if necessary.

My flickr page is http://www.flickr.com/people/marektel.

Here are three selections:

Thanks

Carrie this weekend. Been there a few times already, but it will be the first time with a tripod. Posts will be in the northeast group -- unless I should post them here also?

Hi, my name is Pascal, I just discover the website one week ago.
I've always been interrested by old abandonned place so I spend a lot of time on the DB looking at cool place.
I'm from the north western part of Quebec (Val d'Or).
I will probably get a camera within a month, so I will start UE after that, and show you some mining place from my area.

Hello, my name is Jack. I live in north Central Texas.

I recently discovered this site after doing a search on Lion Country Safari. I live in the area where the park used to be.

I didn't realize that there was a community of people who enjoy exploring old abandoned places. And further, I thought I was freak in my younger days, for thinking that storm drain exploration was fun. Evidently, I'm not only person who has had a good time doing that.

I hope to meet some of you folks in the near future and check out some of the local attractions with you.

So as all can see i am new to the site....been into Urban Exploration since before I knew it had a name. In fact I am a photographer and the guy who was nice enough to teach me decided the best place to do so was the old Swift Plant of Fort Worth. Anyway hope to get to know others and find some new places to explore...

Hello, I'm Tungsten. I live in Montreal. I like to climb things (rocks, ice, buildings, cranes, you name it). I'm looking for new partners, and really want to find some abandoned places with cool stuff inside (which I haven't really done thus far).

Pic 1: The Olympic Stadium. Early morning run became spontaneous urbex. Stairwell of 700 steps not conquered - yet.

Pic 2: A crane, from which there was an awesome rappel.

Pic 3: Campus, as with everything, is prettier from a roof.
