Had the 'Colt' version - was actually a nice, inexpensive car. ...faster than the Corvette from 0-50mph.
|
It also had better suspension than any Corvette until fairly recently.

...you sound like Jeremy Clarkson Course, anything good about the suspension was offset by the bicycle tires :-/

Ford built those trucks as well... one needs to look at the VIN # to ascertain which manufacturer built it.

Oakwood Beach, Staten Island
I've known about these for a few years now - I first spotted one of them when a brush fire cleared the area about 6 or 7 years ago but never bothered to go out and get a closer look until yesterday. It was definitely a dumping ground for stolen cars and/or insurance fraud. There's at least 7 or 8 cars out there that are still recognizable as cars, plus plenty more that are just engines with drivetrains attached and nothing else. I also wouldn't be surprised if there were even more where the most recent fire hadn't cleared. About 50 yards from here is another cool spot, what used to be the garbage pit for a small beach community right down the road. Quite a few big old appliances left out to rot, but by the time I walked through the light was fading and my camera battery was dead.

First one is a F-Body. Looks like a 2.8 V6. Firebird or Camaro. Second one looks like a Jeep Cherokee XJ. Thought it was a MJ at first then saw the roof in the rear was collapsed. Probably a 2 door. Last one is a 86-96 Fullsize Ford Bronco with a 302 or 351. Sad. I'd take any of the three.

My boys and I stumbled upon this truck in a jumble of rocks at the bottom of a cliff. It was so mangled and broken in half. Parts were found lodged in boulders. My best guess from looking at the grill and bumper is its a late 60s early 70s Ford shortbed truck. Bed had a rollbar.

Did a bit of digging, closest looking thing I can find to that car is a 1949 Chevrolet Deluxe, but that definitely looks like a Cadillac logo to me, maybe Cadillac made a knock-off? (Accidently replied to an old post, sorry, new to uer)

I like! That would make the start of a great build with a late model turbo diesel and a 4 link suspension. Ok, maybe not King of the Hammers, but would still be wayyyy cool. Crazy Abby

red one is some sort of home-brew based on a Lotus super 7 or Caterham concept, from the looks of it, but probably not as sophisticated, looks like a VW Bug type front axle maybe?
