Finally got around to getting back to this Porsche 944 shut away and collecting dust in a farmers barn.

Cool! One of the most underrated cheap (at least to purchase) sports cars out there. I hope it gets rescued.

Just had a peek on autotrader had no idea how affordable they were. The interior was in pretty decent condition and save for the bump of rust on the hood she looked like she just needed her tires and tank filled.

"at least to purchase" being the key words there.

Yeah. It's the monthly maintenance payment that gets ya. Be better off buying a new one

*Affordable to purchase but pretty expensive to maintain and repair. There's no such thing as a cheap Porsche! (I used to work at a Porsche shop and saw victims of "cheap 944s" pretty often.)

Still... an awesome little car that will outhandle just about anything out there, and after you've replaced the timing belt, clutch and several electronic parts that are guaranteed to fail, fairly cheap to own.

the place is a restoration shop. All the cars I shot were parts cars and lost causes discarded out back. They specialize in German and British stuff. I counted about 5 e types inside,as well as an xk 120. Also an uber rare '54 BMW sedan.

Actually Nash Metropolitans were made by Austin, using the 1.2 & 1.5 litre versions of the B series engines used in the MGB.

This means you could transplant a 1.8 unit into a Metropolitan without much trouble, though I imagine it would be interesting to drive, as they were troublesome with even a 1.2!
