I can't say I bring a knife with me on excursions. I just stick to working with climbing claws, a rope (with a grappling hook), and sometimes foot-spikes. As for weapons the climbing claws complement self-defense.
I did use to bring knives with me (I brought a Ka-Bar) but had to lost it and I haven't bothered to get another since. Système International -- It's blasphem.ous, isn't it?
That's bodacious. It at least looks more useful than a.. Stun Knife (if anyone gets that video-game reference). Système International -- It's blasphem.ous, isn't it?

Posted by elrais What knife do you use (if any) when exploring or for other purposes?
My knife I got a year ago is a gerber gator. It's got great grip and kept it's blade. I mostly use it for camping trips. http://images.rock...oint_Fine_Edge.jpg

My roommate just gave me a TOPS Tom Brown Tracker, it's amazing. Best knife I have ever owned. It's a little big but I'll be bringing it with me when I explore. I shoot photos. www.flickr.com/photos/dynastar666 www.developingpictures.org

blunt tip with one side serrated. Great as tool, and very non threatening to the 5-0 So follow me and do exactly as the song says:smoke weed, take pills, drop outta school, kill people and drink And jump behind the wheel like it was still legal

I stopped carrying expensive knives. Who the hell wants to lose a Strider or an Emerson in some shitty abandoned hospital? I can get Gerbers, Benchmades, and CRKT knives at government cost and don't carry anything that costs more then $35 anymore. Science flies you to the Moon. Religion flies you into tall buildings.
