| | | What knife do you use (if any) when exploring or for other purposes? My knife I got a year ago is a gerber gator. It's got great grip and kept it's blade. I mostly use it for camping trips.

| | | When I do carry a knife, I carry a cheap HK clone of the Benchmade Stryker. Nice knife, even if it is a cloned version of it.

| | | Usually a leather man for versatility if you even need to use a knife. And if i'm doing something where i know i'll need one for cutting rope a larger sheath knife. Preferably a ka-bar.

what I take if I take a knife ... Geber MP800 Buck 110 folding hunter witch is perfectly legal so long as it's on my belt in it's sheath. Ka-Bar Black Fighter w/ partial serration for any rural explorations... things I do not take any of my swords(11: 8 junkblades 3-battle ready, 1 expensive Damascus katana), any expensive knife (i have a few collectibles/antiques), any illegal knife(bayonet/butterfly etc)... I have a large collection

| | | I just go with a standard swiss army knife. I carry it everywhere, even when I'm not exploring. It's got everything you really need. Screwdriver? Check. Scissors? Check. Tweezers? Check. Knife? Double check. It's also a perfectly justifiable personal accessory, unlike my katana, and is therefore a much better exploration tool.

| | | I usually have a swiss army knife stashed away in my backpack. Used to have one of those tiny little keychain knives before I got it confiscated at an airport. Swiss army knives are handy to have around the house when your can-opener suddenly stops working at two in the morning. I don't often find much use for knives when I'm exploring though.
