| | | I'm really glad there's a group like this over here, the meetup was awesome, and I enjoyed meeting everybody. I hope to see you guys who couldn't make it at the next one!

| | | Current thoughts on the next scheduled meetup: * Skip January. The usual day would be 1/3/09, and we'll still be hung over. * I was thinking of a location in the Fort Worth Stockyards, but the first weekend of February is bad -- it's the final weekend of the Stock Show. All the meeting places (especially at the Stockyards) will be filled to the gills, and opportunities for extra-curricular activities would be curtailed. * The second Saturday of February is the 14th. To us lone wolves, it's just another day, but for those whom Cupid has favored, going out with the UER bunch probably isn't on the agenda. So how about if we skip January, have February on its usual day on the Dallas side (or maybe in Irving, see below), and plan to have a guaranteed-awesome meetup in March at the Stockyards?
Location thoughts: Campisi's was fun, but the place was packed, and we weren't able to reserve a spot until we could prove we'd have enough folks. And being the not-so-timely types, that's difficult. So how about a place that's a bit more laid back? Kinda early to be nailing it down, but what about: Joe's Coffee Shop http://www.joes-coffee-shop.com/ 425 W. Irving Blvd, Irving, TX 75060 Right by the South (Downtown) Irving train station Reasonably priced down-home cookin', breakfast all day. No widescreen TV, so no hootin' hollerin' crowds. Friendly waitresses who call you "honey" and mean it. The only drawback for some is that there's no alcohol, but plenty of coffee. If that's a problem, we could always go to the pizza joint on Belt Line that we went to a few months back. It's a couple of months off, so alternative suggestions for February are of course welcome!

| | | WHY NOT MEET IN JANUARY!? It's the only time I have off, (schools out... they don't' need bus drivers!) that I still have childcare! Boo. Boo I say.

| | | Sounds fine to me -- I exist but to serve. Anyone else think they'd be ok for Saturday 1/3/09? Would Joe's in Irving still be ok?

Saturday the 3rd would exclude me unless it was later...like 6 or 7 pm, but don't worry about me, as my schedule is often such that Saturdays are awkward.

| | | 6pm in Irving actually works pretty well without a car. The Trinity Railway Express leaves Downtown Dallas at 5:40 and gets to Irving right at 6. There's a return train at 8, so it's all good.

| | | Joe's seems fine; looks like it's really close to the rail line too, for those who would be coming via that mode. (Of course I know that's why you picked it Robert!)

| | | Are we still on -- January would be *this* weekend, which seems like short notice given the preceding week of merriment and the upcoming overindulgence. Just want to get an idea whether there's still interest. (Ardamass, I *love* TSO. Send a phone pic or something to my jealousy can be heightened even further, 'k?)

Got my first pair of glasses at TSO when I was about 7 years old. Yes Bustedknuckle, they made optical glass back then.

| | | It's tomorrow, and I'm the only one signed up for sure. Come on, I suggested skipping January and everyone was like "oh, no, we'll all be there"? Well, it's good food anyway. 6 o'clock, ask for Amanda.
