nothing made it special to the average person. It was a car that I personally liked very much and had a connection to. Underneath it was a J-body with stiffer shocks and springs and a rear sway bar. Under the hood was nothing more than a garden variety 2.8L or 3.1L MPFI V6... but these cars were so much fun to drive. I still pine for the 2nd Generation J-body. 91-94 did nothing for me... 88-90 had a look. and those cars, in good nick, go for $4k here all day long, more if they're under 100,000 miles. Even models with issues still fetch $3k.

Good to see another 80s/90s GM fan on here! I am more into the W-Body platform, but I do have a strong connection to the older J-Bodys. A 91 2-door Cavalier was my first car. Base as could be and pretty beat up, but that car took anything I could throw at it and never skipped a beat. After that I had a 86 Z24. I would love a Z24 hatchback, but they are pretty much non existent in Western New York. I currently have a 89 Turbo Grand Prix along with a few other cars.

do you remember the old Empire State J-body Club? We had ONE meet in Lake George NY and then the Cobalt came out and that was that. I've owned GM's since 1996 exclusively. Impressive list!! Especially the Citation X11 and the Cavalier Type 10. Those are generally non existent, especially in New York. Plus damn near nobody seems to care about them. A guy around the corner from my work has a pretty mint X11 just sitting next to his house. I have seen a Cavalier before with the Z22 badges on it, I figured it was some kind of dealer graphics package or something. Was that a actual factory package?? I have owned primarily GMs and Fords. GM List: 1991 Cavalier Coupe 1986 Cavalier Z24 1993 Lumina Sedan 1996 Grand Prix SE Coupe 1989 Grand Prix McLaren Turbo (TGP for short) 1987 Park Avenue Ultra 1993 Park Avenue Ultra 1995 Bonneville SSEi 2001 Regal GS

this was how my X11 ended up after I nuked the engine in it. I had no idea what I had back in 1990.
the Z22 was pretty much a New England/eastern NY dealer option package. Basically it was an RS with the Z24 suspension. This was my 1991 Cavalier RS coupe taken in 2000 before it got hauled off to the scrapyard where it currently resides still:

Here are the four cars I found during No Exit last weekend: Vintage Datsun:
Buick and Cadillac:
1/6 of a Mazda: (judging by the nearby hubcaps)

i don't think that was a Mazda. I am pretty sure that's the dashboard out of a Chevy/GMC Tahoe/Yukon or Suburban/Denali. See the 4x4 selector and knob design? Also, the side window defroster vents as well as the dashboard design itself?

It's a Woody with a little extra bodywork thrown in, I think.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

Weather and time happened.
