that year Z24 is on the shortlist of cars that i want before I die. When I hear of one being senselessly destroyed and abandoned, it bothers me.

That car was a piece of crap! What makes that model so special? Was it a limited production car? I was bored and did a 5 minute research finding out it wasn't, yet it's worth $2,000 for whatever reason(if it's running and nicely maintained on the inside, of course).

nothing made it special to the average person. It was a car that I personally liked very much and had a connection to. Underneath it was a J-body with stiffer shocks and springs and a rear sway bar. Under the hood was nothing more than a garden variety 2.8L or 3.1L MPFI V6... but these cars were so much fun to drive. I still pine for the 2nd Generation J-body. 91-94 did nothing for me... 88-90 had a look.

and those cars, in good nick, go for $4k here all day long, more if they're under 100,000 miles. Even models with issues still fetch $3k.

I had a black with silver bottom 88 z 24 with a 5spd. I beat the ever living shit out of it and drove it back and forth to school for a few months before giving it to a friend who fell on hard times . It was decent car actually and better build quality than a Chrysler of the same era dare I say.

That is true; the little wannabe-Camaro could take a beating with those shocks!
This car in particular really was worth the 4 Benjamins: No working odometer/speedometer, the wipers worked whenever they felt like it, no passenger-locking door, the 6 banger needed lots of work due to overheating, the interior was trashed!, and like Sleeperspirit's, mines too was black with the bottom silver "sport" kit. Not kidding you, man, when I finally bought a working car, not even a co-worker would accept it as a FREE car when I offered it to him since he saw all the trouble it'd put me through.
Sorry... If I had known you in person and knew you wanted it, I would have been more than happy to give you the keys and the title without my name on it.

Good luck. I hope you find that model someday.

Not a car I found, but I'm happy to tell you that my Opel Astra is slowly becoming an urban exploring location!

It just popped out there one day! There's a little hatch under the mat with a sponge underneath it, it doesn't close entirely anymore and a seed must have fallen through the tiny gap onto the sponge. The sponge was probably damp enough to make it germinate, and it grew through the gap into the sunlight. I give it some water now and then and gonna see how big it will grow.

People would understand you clearly if you placed commas in your sentences. I had to reread your comment twice to figure out what you were trying to say. Me telling you this does not make me an "a-hole", it is simply an initiative for the consideration of your audience.
