| | | Ah introductions! Nobody reads them but there you go (or i go). I'll keep it short and sweet. Male, 41 (for a few more days at least), living somewhere near Utrecht (Netherlands). Got into exploring and a bit more serious about photography in the last quarter of 2007. In many ways still a rookie... Visited about 85 locations alone or in the company of some excellent people (you know who you are). People that showed me the ropes, were kind with advise regarding exploring, photography and having a good time. Thing really got into gear after the eXplo 08 an by now i am as addicted as most of you. Higlights: Powerplant, West park, Vet school, Central Thermique. Failed: Battersea, Cane hill, Stella artois. To do: hehe too long to mention Anyway glad to be here and see you around. Grtz, M.

| | | What can I say. I am new here. I was a guest for a couple months before I signed up. I found this place by doing a google search for phoenix trotting park. http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=22700 I was amazed by the photos and I wanted to see more. I like horses and horse racing. I have never gone exploring, but I really enjoy reading the posts and the absolutely awesome photos on this website.

| | | My name is Vinh, male of seventeen. I'm relatively new when it comes to urban exploration, which is why I'm here! Most of my friends aren't exactly adventurous. So I thought it'd be great to meet a lot of like-minded people. If you're living in the San Fernando valley, you can always hit me up if you're down for anything.

| | | Ariel Johnson, 17, and part of a two girl exploration duo called The Lost Girls (we only recently started exploring building, in the past it was just hikes in the mountains). We made videos and photographic journals of our excursions, though we have yet to post any videos online. The other half of my duo found this site and because I'm the one in charge of planning our urbex (or it is urbanex?) have stared an account (and hopefully become a full member so I can add new places) to find new places and get advise and pointers.

| | | Hi! My name is Jo. 25/F from the city of Toronto, Canada. I've been poking around places for a while, mostly interested in abandoned areas. Don't really have any adventurous friends so I stay pretty safe, save for the time at Hearn. I'm looking to learn more about this city though. I really enjoy taking photos, especially along highways, and snowboarding.

BBQ'd cars from San Diego fires
| | Re: New Member? Introduce yourself here! <Reply # 1108 on 1/9/2009 9:13 AM >
| | | Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a writer/musician from Hollywood CA and have been lurking on this great site for many years before finally deciding to join. I take lots of photos in my spare time, and used to think I was the only one obsessed with abandoned/apocalyptic/industrial/forbidden/overgrowth fetish, but this site opened my eyes and now I can see clearly. I guess my favorite things are abandoned amusement parks, and I travel most frequently to Japan. I presently use a nice simple titanium 10.1 megapixel camera by Canon that I bought last time I was over there. Anyways, I'm looking forward to going through my photos when I have the chance and hopefully sharing some love with all of you. My first thing I was thinking of posting is a photo collection of burned/melted things from the San Diego fires. I lived nearby and was able to sneak into the 'forbidden' areas. Neat stuff, like garage doors melted into mailboxes. (a preview is in my avatar). Here's wishing everyone a good 2009.

| | | Hi, my name's Josh, I'm 23 from South Florida in the Fort Lauderdale area. I've been interested in exploring for quite a bit and have recently taken time to explore some unique sites around my area and sometimes even out in the everglades. I'm interested in photography as well as other art forms and I've found myself interested in the history of the locations I visit. I'm currently working on a project with such a site in the everglades with a good ex-marine friend of mine and hope to have enough done to show sometime soon. I look forward to posting and being part of this community.

It seems to be a common theme. Funny part is, I spent most of my first seven days diligently scanning the forums; this has been followed by about two weeks of occasional lurking. Go figure.
|
yea i've been lurking mostly too, buts that's cuz I'm married to my job and now winter has kicked in .... I know lots of people explore in the winter but I'd rather take the time I need rather than rush cuz i'm bloody freezing .... ahhhh until spring arrives I guess its lurky lurk for me

| | | Finally, I am able to post after signing up sometime last week. Well I'm Jason. I found this site while doing research on the Water Park in Newberry Springs, Ca. I plan on making a trip back that way in a couple months to get some pictures. One thing I have noticed, are that all the pictures of the site pretty much look the same. How come nobody has got some different pictures? Well I'm Jason, and I'm glad I found this site. I currently reside in Bakersfield, Ca. And no, not everybody around here is a redneck.

| | | Greetings and salivations! I've been enjoying reading through everything on the forums and I'm very excited that I can actually post now. Huzzah! I've been doing some random exploring off and on for quite some time now, primarily old houses and farms with a smattering of mining towns (back when I was in Colorado). I blame my parents who always took us camping around ghost towns. I don't really have too many friends who are interested in exploring with me, so I'm looking forward to meeting some like-minded folks to go traipsing about with. I love finding new places to explore and seeing how differently places decay. I'm in Austin, TX, so if there are any Austin-area people who need another person along on an exploration, please let me know!

| | | Hey there everyone! Im not new to the forums per-se, but this is certainly my first post. Im from the Eastern Virginia and Hampton Roads area, and my friends and I have done tons of exploring. Before we knew it had a name, we were just kinda out there checking out every abandoned spot we could find. These forums are a great place, and Ive been doing a lot of lurking and reading and have learned a lot. I am hoping that I can contribute to the places in the area (and some out of the area as I do a ton of road-tripping). I am also hoping, as is everyone here, that I can hear about some sites I have yet to know about. I do tons of photography and theres tons of stuff Id love to show everyone, even though Im sure some of yall know about it already.
Peace.

| | | Hey everyone, New guy here. Found your forum a week or so ago and spent several hours the first night just reading through the posts, seems like a bunch of level headed people here. Lemme introduce myself, my name is Chris and I'm a Seattle native. I've been exploring abandoned buildings with a friend of mine who shares a similar passion for not only urban exploration, but also photography. I've seen a couple of my haunts already posted here, such as the Nike base in Redmond. Great to know that other people have trodden there as well. Lastly my other hobby aside from capturing these great locations is DJing, and have been doing that for quite sometime. If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask. Cheers!
