| | | I heard about this on the radio today: Developers plot $500M motorsports complex in Arden Hills Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal - by John Vomhof Jr. Staff writer A development group that wants to bring a $500 million motorsports complex to Minnesota has turned its attention to a site in Arden Hills. Officials from International Motorsports Entertainment and Development Corp., in Wayzata, said they are interested in acquiring the 585-acre site of the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP), now owned by the U.S. Army and the General Services Administration. Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. US Inc. had planned to build a mixed-use development there, but recently pulled out of that deal. If the motorsports plan moves forward, the facility would include a 2.5-mile road course, a 5/8-mile oval track for stock car events, a 1-mile track for Indy-style racing and a 100,000-square-foot exhibition center that could be used for car shows and other community events. The track would have seating for between 50,000 and 60,000 spectators, but could be expanded later. The proposed development also could include commercial space, such as a high-tech business park, other office space, retail, lodging and restaurants, as well as some green space.

You ruined yourself by posting info, dah. The original poster hasn't log on here for over a month. Asbestos is everywhere, and it's not shock sensitive. Security around military sites? No way.

Big foot is there, and his foot prints look just like bomb craters. giggle. At the very least be careful not to step in his crap.

| | | I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run. He's fuzzy. Get outta here.

| | | So much of that place would be an adventure..I mean they used to store bombs in the tunnels of the little hill there, that would just be a side-dish compared to the old ware-house looking buildings there.. I've always thought it would be a prime place for some paint ball..
Some girls should just be happy they were invited to the prom.. |

| | | Saw the following in the most recent Nixle crime summary: Theft – Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, 47xx Hwy 10 – 2:30 p.m. 12/10. Suspects seen taking copper from vacant building. Suspects – 2 or 3 H/Ms, short stature, thin builds, dark hair, in a black GMC or S10 Blazer with hatchback. As always, be careful out there.

Theft – Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, 47xx Hwy 10 – 8 p.m. 12/15. Lone male suspect seen in vacant building. Suspect not located. I don't understand how they're calling it theft when the suspect was not apprehended. What was missing? [last edit 12/18/2009 10:52 PM by macphisto - edited 1 times]

| | | And again: Theft – Twin Cities Arsenal, 47xx Hwy 10 – between 11 a.m. 12/17 and 10 a.m. 12/18. About 500 lbs of copper stolen from vacant building. I wouldn't go near the place right now with all this crap going on.

| | | This thread is exactly why we shouldn't post this stuff on public forums and websites like UER. Location-specific threads like this increase the visibility of a location and suddenly you've got scrappers, vandals, and thieves busting in.
