| | | I work right next to this place and have dreamed of going in this place. I have seen a few perspective entrances, but being that I have a family I need to worry about, I'm pretty sure sitting in prison wouldn't be a good idea.

I'm almost positive that at least a few photos were posted here on UER a while back, though whoever posted 'em might have removed them later. Someone who cares more than I do can try and find the thread. Point is, I'm sure it's been done - I'm just not sure it should, or even can, be done again.
|
I too recall photos - however, I also recall a argument over them or something and this person not being able to prove or supply more photos? Something like that. I too can vouch for the warning about this place. I have personally been escorted off this property by law enforcement. Luckily, I talked my way out of any ticket or handcuffs..

| | | Hey-I have been in the TCAAP on five separate occasions within this past year to do some photography. As many have mentioned, it is still active and patrolled year round. The closest we came is when it was snowing out last winter. We walked into a building to check it out, came out, and there were fresh tire marks in the snow. Kinda an eery thing considering we didn't even hear the vehicle or pay attention to how loud we were being. This place is way too easy to get into however. For how large it is, it's not very interesting. The building have been gone through and everything has been removed. However, there are lots of old dials for steam, hydraulics, etc. My biggest concern was the asbestos level in the buildings. I would for sure bring a mask. PM me if you want any info about the place. Pic below is in the buildings on the western side by the pond. This was the only building with anything interesting in it (ie flares).

| | | Well goddamn, I'm gonna hop the fence this week then. Especially if there's a free flare to be had. TCAAP, did you go at night or the day? I would prefer to go day if its not too hard to go unnoticed. Afterall I did major in sneaking with a minor in spying.... TCAAP i sent you a pm

| | | Getting chased with paintball guns sounds like a cherry on top of a perfect ue exp. Plus I've had way more paintballs shot at me than any National Guardsmen. Anyways we're from the suburbs, the only stuff we can explore is at best still being lightly used. T- 2 days and counting to infiltration...

| | | I hope not to offend anyone here, but most of the patrols I've seen (and National Guards people) would have a hard time just catching somebody if one would run. Overweight, portly, Kevin Jamesish = all words that describe a patrol. Again, I'm sure that there are some national guard members that are trained, but the only thing that would make me nervous are the dogs. A paintball gun? Oh no, I'll run 50 feet and then they won't hit me and I'll still explore some more. The biggest threat at this place is going to be self-imposed. With all the toxins and asbestos, you better be wearing a mask.

Oh yes. Everyone just adorns that because timing is everything. No reason to think the armed services would be concerned about security.

| | | I'm going tonight at 7:00 and will be going over the fence on the East side by the big oak tree. I will be brining Mr. Brown because he looks like a cop dog. His dog license # is 12345. I will be wearing a blaze orange shirt with a bulls-eye on the front and back. I will first be visiting Bldg. 2112 where I will discharge some of the fire extinguishers with 100 tea light candles lit for some long exposures. We will then procede to Bldg 3467 where we will do more of the same. Then to Bldg 436, for, you guessed it. Please do not bring ant cats, as Mr. Brown is scared of them. Also his one weakness is Beggen Strips, because he doesn't know it's not baccon. So please don't try to fool him with those, and don't tell the kops about Beggin Strips either.
I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner! Any problem can be licked with a case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite. Strategic Beer Command ruling the desert since 1995 http://www.strategic-beer-command.com |

| | | I'll eat my hat if more than 5 national guardsmen have ever even looked through the great lakes section, let alone the entire site. Anyways there's no reason to buzz kill, we are adults capable of assessing risk vs. reward. And to me the risk is more often than not the reward itself. Also if you check the national guards website, which I have done, you can easily see that almost nothing is going on there, there is not a dusting of gunpowder left, and that lots of the area is completely unused do to soil contamination. And not only that but they give you a detailed map with all the contaminated areas and every building listed clearly. Maybe they are the ones who should watch what they type. They also have a form you can fill out as a civilian to gain permission to access the site and have a tour or do whatever. Besides if the "man" was reading this site he would crack my login, view all my pm's and personal info then command a satellite to shoot a laser through my window while I'm typing this, hey whats that bright light, oh sh.... it's all good times.

You want some salt on that hat? 'Cause I'm pretty sure if all of us put our heads together we can come up with six guard members on UER pretty easily, and that's not counting people who haven't registered. I'm pretty sure the number of UER members across all branches of service, active and reserve, is in the double digits...

| | | I think most people do not have a problem doing most anything here, they just don't make a big deal about and usually don't let everyone and their dog know when and where they are going to be. Unless you're really going somewhere else and that was just to throw us off.......

| | | Nah it just slipped out and I shouldn't have typed when we might be going but anyways, me and tcaap went in today. Also I wasn't responding to you junkyard because you're actually from near the area and a veteran and would know about this place a little. It was just funny that people out of state or people who have no info on tcaap were commenting on security and dogs (ha!) and just generally armchair quarterbacking when they really have no idea about this place. Not trying to forum fight though just having a good time and mostly joking around so please don't take me seriously and getting to the point... TCAAP is totally fucking awesome and totally fucking doable. Its seriously a ghost town and if you do your research you'll easily find that the guard rarely uses it and that there is no ammunition left, trust me. Not trying to start a rush on tcaap either just wanted to let people who care know that this place is awesome and to check it out before its gone. We went in practically every main building(and climbed the water tower) and guarantee that there is only one building being used in the main area, a water treatment plant that is run by a contractor not "national guardsmen with dogs". And we saw the guy drive away at 4:30 in a plain white city looking truck. That water treatment plant is a sign that this place will be gone soon, and turned into a park. The only reason it isn't now is because of soil contamination. I will post some pics tom. to give everybody a look. All arguing aside(sorry) this place was seriously memorable and one of the most unique places in MSP no doubt, oh yeah no tunnels found so far but we're pretty sure we found a way in an underground bunker deep in the woods, high up in the hills...pics tomorrow. Should I start a separate thread or post here? Thanks
