I went to art school in Chicago and knew several grafifiti artists there. They use this website and many others to find new locations to paint murals. Interestingly enough, graffiti artists, like urban explorers, are very secretive about their locations and don't share information about abandonments. Don't kid yourself into thinking they aren't here on UER.
The internet is a poweful tool for spreading information. A lot of scrappers have families to feed and scrapping pays the bills. They use the internet to find scrap, believe it or not, and UER is a very helpful tool to them.
Why do you have such a difficult time understanding this? I'm not making shit up.

And most of these people stealing copper aren't the family type.
You sound like someone from the generation ahead of mine, too worried about the internet.
Granted everything can be seen and shared with everyone, but bad stuff doesn't happen as much as you old people pre-internet people think.

I think it's more that they don't care about abandoned buildings. Same thing with the property owners.
If people gave a shit about what is in their abandoned buildings, they would do a good job protecting it.
