Turns out I'll be going bouldering at Joshua Tree during this event. The people who I would have come with decided to do that instead. I hope everyone has fun though! Would love to explore mines soon.

Speaking of Southern california mines, I recently went location scouting for a short film this past weekend and we found that a mine deep in Yucca Valley got closed down because of a fault line recently. Such a shame. I did get some sweet shots of the landscape though. I'll post some of it later.

DAMMIT DAVE!

How can you do this to us?

You need to quit your new job, tell them there's been a horrible death in the family, someone fell into a tub grinder, and you have to make arrangements for the funeral, since you're the only person the deceased really loved.

Tell them you can resume work on tuesday.

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

If you plan on meeting us outside of the planned Mitchell and Kelso meet ups make sure you contact people in advance. The itinerary is open to a little shifting depending on a billion factors. We won't have any snow (thank the gods) but we may be delayed at a location or two or choose to skip one. The camp sites are rock solid, though. A high clearance is required at Bonanza. Riley's is just barely doable in a sedan. Goldome is gravel road.

I'll be in Kelso early on Saturday. I drive a tan Corolla and I'll be wearing a desert camo hat. Any vehicles I should keep an eye out for?

Thanks!

Suddenly I'm worried about some of the Corolla, Civic, Jetta drivers.

Before you get out there, take a look under your car this evening, while the road or driveway are cool. Take notice of the lowest part of the car, look at the oil pan, and the transmission. These are the things that if hit by a rock will ruin your weekend, and maybe your year?

Once you know where this parts are under the car, and how low they hang, it will allow you to slowly drive over objects in the road, that would otherwise cause major damage.

I'm sure there will be plenty of rope with your group, it usually only takes 20 to 50 feet of rope and a small tug from another car to pull a stuck vehicle from a small rut or shallow hole.

Good luck guys......have fun!!!

You can see a million miles tonite, but you can't get very far.

My oil pan is already mangled. No holes yet. My car is old though and I was really hoping I could catch a ride before I had to beat it up more. We'll see.

Hey the fool above you plans on getting to the campsite friday in a Sedan. That's fine if he plans on spending 30K on repairs on his jaguar. You guys will be arriving at the same time so I told him to contact you.
