You don't need "hard core" boots. I have yet to encounter a location where cheap ass runners from K-Mart, Target or the local discount shop would not do. Just buy some socks and put them on before you put on your shoes. Yeah, it's that simple. Oh, and if you wear them in drains, dry them out and only ever use them for draining. You don't need super hero boots to get into UE.
Now if some one mentions tabi boots....

I still stand by anything that has a shank.. I've been in too many places with nails all over hell.. I doubt thats as much of a risk in drains, but I don't really drain at all..

OMG I donated a pair like that to Sally Ann's. Darn near broke my ankle going down a wet loading dock in the freakin things.

I wear either military desert boots, or my comfy and warm Columbia hikers.
