| | | While out offroad exploring in the desert on a very hot day, we happened across a wide creek bed that was flowing about 2' deep. This was plenty enough for us, as hot as it was...... We spent about an hour messin' around in the water cooling off, had a beer or two, ate lunch. Before we left I walked up stream and around a slight bend, where to my surprise, and disgust. I found three dead bloated cows laying in the river. We'd frolicked in cow guts for an hour......

| | | I've posted about this before, but it's definitely my creepiest find and unfortunately I didn't get a photo because my friend was the one with the camera and we were so spooked that we left without taking any photos. In an abandoned farmhouse, we found a diary written by a woman to her infant/toddler son that detailed every imaginable kind of abuse inflicted by her husband/the boy's father. It was particularly unsettling because I'm acquainted with the abuser.

| | | Found an opened grave one time (at an abandoned cemetery). Took a few pics but felt bad about posting them at the time (not sure if they were eventually posted or not). It was one of those mini mausoleums with a door and like 4 separate graves inside. I felt like an asshole just looking but I couldn't NOT look
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? |

| | | Posted by Therrin A buddy and I were out walking through cattle country one time, and we came across a dead cow. Only it was bloated. SO bloated! I guess it had been rotting and filling up with gasses from the inside? He made the mistake of kicking it. It exploded. The stench was... I cannot .... I ... it was....
I threw up, then I kept dry heaving while running away. He never kicked a dead animal again, I can tell you that much.

| | | Not really while exploring my mother was a Nurse who worked at out local low level asylum geriatric hospital back in 1978, She had a lot of experience. I was only 12 at the time and used to walk up to the hospital to meet her and walk her home, so she had company. This day I took the quite back way into the grounds which where surrounded by trees and stuff and walked up the "Mortuary road", so called as the original Mortuary building was at the top of the road (long gone now). This road ran from the back of the local village. So here is me 12 years old still daylight as think it was spring walking up this road with tall fir trees all around, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. what I seen made me stop and my heart skip a beat in panic(well I was 12 ) There slightly off the road was a bald headed guy(looked white as a sheet in a hospital gown the type with 2 ties in the back wondering around and a round this bloody tree!. Perhaps he stood out due to the Darkness caused by the trees but i just moved slowly till I was out of sight and ran like hell to my mothers ward . I told her what I had seen, She listened. Then told me "not to worry he was harmless"..............aye right

Oh yeah! They were for slicing into very thin sheets like Listerine Strips and analyzing under the microscope. In a different insane asylum I found little jars of smelly pickled brain chunks as well. Good times!

| | | I came upon a pile of dead cows on an abandoned farm once, in a corner where a field angled into some woods. There had to be at least 20 of them, all half rotten, bloated, and the smell... ugh. The buzzing of flies was really loud, too. Had to be illegally dumped there by another local farmer.

| | | This note was on a house that was easily accessible through a broken porch window...but as my best friend threw a leg over to get in we heard the loudest crash from inside the house. WE booked it the heck out of there, we did not want the angry owner thinking we were the thieves! I messed with the contrast a bit so it can be read more easily....not the creepiest but still creepy ;-)

| | | Posted by Lasso A rocking horse in the middle of a dirt floor basement in an old abandoned farmhouse. Nothing else was in there except a shelf of mason jars filled with who knows what. Also, children's toys in the basement of an abandoned insane asylum. TL;DR: old toys + creepy basements = scared me.

Lloyd Ferns house. That letter sketched me too. Perhaps the loud bang might have been raccoons (with which the house was infested).
