This is going to sound crazy, but it's the creepiest thing I've seen.

My dad & I found this abandoned building in the middle of nowhere - we were just wandering through the woods, & it was probably a 20 minute walk along a path that had all but grown over.
This house was broken down, falling apart, & covered in graffiti. Everything in the house was falling apart, stained, obviously garbage, except in the middle of the kitchen was a piano in perfect condition. It looked like it was brand new.

I have no idea what it was doing there, & I know it sounds silly, but it REALLY creeped me out (I think I was 12 at the time, but it still weirds me out to this day)

My dad & I looked for tire tracks or something, to try to figure out how the piano got there, but there was no path wide enough for a vehicle.

We went back about a year later, but it looked like the house had burnt down, because there was just a foundation & trees with burn marks around the area.

During one of my first larger scale explorations(scale meaning size)myself and two female friends were casually exploring a abandoned Water Treatment Plant (casually indicating lack of any equipment except a flashlight).

It was a really cool place to explore and I wish I could have gone back there before the tore it down.

The first creepy thing, was when you entered the control room which had the pressure gauges and control console, on a white plaster wall adjacent to the console was written "Help me!" in big red letters. Upon first glance it was super creepy, but then I saw the discarded can of paint used to paint in, and realized it was likely just some other fellow degenerates hanging out in an old building. So we pressed on. The treatment plant was about 5 floors high at its highest, but also went underground several levels. The basement was flooded out due to heavy rains that year, likely due to cracks in the foundation (if you know anything about geology, cracks in the foundation of a basement deep in the ground and a heavy rainy season means that the local water table has risen high enough to penetrate the basement). The two floors above the basement were basically catwalks connecting to short concrete hallways branching off into various rooms. As we shuffled down the catwalk our flashlights started to die (since we were unprepared kids at this time, we didn't have backups). As we approached a super dark room with a bunch of big cylindrical vats with various chemical names written on them, we started to talk about the fact that the flashlights were dying and that we all had gotten a really strange feeling. Being the "tough leader" I made the decision to leave and to be a gentleman and lead the ladies out. As we walked over the catwalk and onto a concrete corridor, I happens to look down at the ground. There were many puddles all throughout the Plant because it had rained the night before, in between the puddles I noticed my own footprints (I was wearing moccasins) and the girls footprints (they were both wearing flats) but here is the creepy part, I then noticed an extra pair of footprints. This seemingly extra pair of footprints was extra noticeable because it was the only set of footprints of bare feet! You could see all five toes. This of course, made no sense because there were only three of us, and all of us were wearing some type of hard-soled enclosed footwear. I stopped to investigate and mentioned it to the girls, suddenly we heard a loud banging noise behind us and we bolted for the exit.

Honestly, I have no idea what it could have been. I believe in Ghosts (several people had died in the Plant, hence it being closed) and have had my fair share of paranormal experiences, so perhaps that extra pair of footprints could have been a spirit. However, I do remember seeing evidence of squatters, and perhaps hobo's, so it could also have been a barefooted hobo (but there was broken glass everywhere from instruments and stuff....so im not so sure).

So that has been my creepiest experiences so far!

I was recently scouting an abandoned gov't. hospital mental health facility (though some of the buildings are still active towards the front of the complex) and drove around to find the power plant. As I was looking around, I noticed someone out in the field to my right. On closer inspection, the person was dressed all in black, looked like they were wearing a hooded robe and standing at, what appeared to be, an altar.

I'm not generally creeped out by people practicing alternate religions but in the context of the surroundings I found it creepy that someone would choose the grounds of a mental health facility--with a cemetery nearby with over 900 patient graves--as a place of worship. If you believe in the concept of energy and such, I can't imagine the energy was too good.

I snapped a pic but I only had my wide angle lens with me, so no real detail.

I have come across your typical "dead animal" bones, carcass's, and mummified artifacts. But Last week, when poking around on a "semi active" college campus, I walked in a dorm room to find this.
What makes it so different than others is the way it appears as if the animal went through the "process" and just melted, liquified and ran all over the floor and out into the hall. The fur is still in the "fleshmelt" and pasted to the floor. I don't know, Just different than what I am used to. Maybe because this is a campus that still recruits on the web! (There was another one, smaller, two doors down.)

the hind section of this particular one had been dragged into the middle of the room and dropped.

I was with a friend exploring an old hospital. We only had one flashlight as this was her first time exploring and we were supposed to be somewhere studying all day so smuggling the equipment out of the house proved to be difficult. The location was scrapped to hell, so we were moving relatively fast through it. We got to the 2nd floor and I poked my head out of the stair well and saw the silhouette of a person walking down the hallway with a katana in one hand, and a pistol in the other. I turned and nearly threw my friend down the stairwell offering her no other explanation than "WE HAVE TO GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW". We got to the ground floor and I finally explained to her what I had seen. I don't think she quite believed me, but right then this extremely attractive woman comes waltzing out of the building wearing nothing but a bra and one of those slutty school girl skirts. She was carrying a katana and a pistol. We had scared the hell out of her as well.

Turns out she was a model for god knows what, there was also a photographer taking her picture which we met shortly after. I also got attacked by bats in the basement of this place, drove home on 12$ of gas (1 hour 15 minute trip with a 10 MPG car) and still avoided mine fuhrers' wrath when I arrived home 6 hours after I had left.

I'd say that the day was a success.

A Pitchfork shoved at least an inch and a half into the ceiling. The force it must've taken to get this pitchfork into the ceiling is beyond me.

One day I went with another female explorer and she removed the pitchfork from the ceiling. At the same moment, the front door slammed shut. Despite there being no wind at all... It freaked me out and I made her put it back. I'm a scaredy cat.

For the longest time there was an abandoned school two blocks from my house (it is apartments now), and in the basement were dozens of prosthetic limbs and a few hospital beds. No pics, unfortunately, as this was the mid-nineties and well before I had any kind of camera.

Another, though again, not creepy enough to run me off, was a queen bed - frame, box spring, and mattress - set up and several young (3 to 6 years old range) children's toys in a room in an old slaughter house.

While photographing a long abandoned house in Haldimand, Ontario during the middle of the night I saw, or atleast think I saw, an elderly woman standing in a doorway behind me.

I didn't have a full-sized flashlight, just a small pen-light - didn't want to light the house up. This stretch of road is dark but the black & whites do patrol it.

As I was holding my camera in one hand and the pen-light in the other, trying to get a macro shot, I heard something behind me and turned to look. I flicked off the pen-light because I didn't know if it was a cop or neighbour.

The house was pitch black and I could see this faint woman in her nightgown, standing in a doorway that leads to the frontdoor, the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms and another large room.

The apparition only lasted a few seconds, she quietly asked me what I wanted with her house, waited, and then she was gone.

There was no fear, although I was startled at first due to concentrating on the photo that I was trying to take. I heard her before I turned to look: except for my little pen-light, the room was as dark as it was outside.

I had previously done extensive research on this house and the people that lived in it. I knew that the elderly woman's name was Mary, the last of the family to live in the house. Having done her complete genealogy, from the year when her ancestors first immigrated to Canada from England and Scotland to when Mary died I had this urge to talk to her. But she was gone.

I think that I posted this story in another section of the forum so apologies if I doubled the story .

Creepiest thing wasn't a saw, but a smell for me. I was exploring a vacant hotel and casino out in Vegas last year and in a secluded corner with old police tape, caught the distinct whiff of cadaver. Having smelled human cadaver before, it's not a smell one forgets. I quickly left.

Last night we were exploring an abandoned warehouse that has been locked up since 2010, when the previous owners caught me inside. Anyways, the place is being prepped for demo. There has been a white Audi parked next to the building that has deterred us from trying to go back the past 5 times we tried and this time we decided that the car was just there and nobody was in it. Well we got inside the building and right off the bat I noticed there was a lot of shit that was different since I had been there in 2010. A huge and very elaborate homeless squat had been set up in the main part of the warehouse. We would have left right then, but the squat looked really old, like nobody had been there for quite awhile, so we pressed on. On the second floor we found a large pile of weed, and lots of strange nasty shit. After taking a peek around we decided to check out the roof. Our first scare of the night came while walking down the hallway that leads to the roof hatch I decided to peek my head out of the window and look down to see if anything was different with the Audi, and sure as shit the owner was sitting there working on his car. The three of us huddle in the window whispering to each other about what we should do. At some point the owner hears us and yells up to us "hey!" to which we reply "hey whatsup, we are just here taking some photos, not causing any trouble!" He replies something along the lines of "That's alright, pretty cool place isn't it?" and we say "hell yea, you have a good night man!" and proceed onto the roof. We stay on the roof for what felt like about an hour, at some point the owner gets his car running and leaves, we get some sweet photos and everything is good. Right before we are going to get off the roof we look in a couple of the skylights that lead to the inside of the building, right above the area the squat was in. When we shine our lights in we hear someone yell "HEY" and something else that we didn't understand. We yell back "hey listen man, we aren't cops or anything, we are just here to take some photos, we're cool!" to which there is no reply. At this point we are all on edge, after learning that there is no other way off the roof and that we are cornered up there we just buck up and go back down into the building and make a B line for our exit, all the time yelling out how we are just there to take photos and not to hurt anyone. I was the first one out the hole. After the first two people are out of the building, we both hear some rustling inside the building and suddenly our bags and gear are getting tossed out of the building. My very frightened partner squeezes out the hole and just yells "RUN RUN RUN!" so we book it the hell out of there and back to the car. Apparently my partner saw the homeless guy come around the corner and as he explained it start "limp running" towards him. On our way back to the car we saw the homeless guy come from around the other side of the building and watch us leave. After that we went back home sat there for about 45 minutes and just relaxed. Then we went and explored an abandoned porn theater. All in all it was one strange night with lots of frights and close calls. At least I got some sweet photos from the roof!
