What kind of barbaric place are you people living in? Some of the people on here sound like they are in a Mad Max movie. I can understand carrying a gun in Iraq, but in your own country? That's when you know it's time to move. I can tell you I would not be urban exploring if it meant the possibility of encountering gangs of armed bandits.

|
That is the craziest thing I have heard. I can't imagine someone feeling the need to where a helmet and I can't imagine how you could actually think this is normal, or even normalesque.

| | | He was wearing full camo when I met him. He also had a lightbar on top of his van. It was enough to taint my opinion of urban explorers forever. But yes.. as he is currently in a state of UE retirement, we should probably talk about other things like mini-batons in holsters.

The light bar was for his volunteer job, not for UE. But, yeah, it looked pretty silly.

| | | I ran into someone like this kid in Hamilton psych once. The thing was he wasn't retarded, brought pepper spray as well and damn near scared me to death when he pulled the baton out. Proof kids, that you shouldn't let people bring their 'friends' who want to 'splore, even if they are old, and seemingly sane otherwise. As for Roadwolf, I was wondering where he was. Must be having fun in Buffalo!

I do hope u realize u might need to explain why your carrying a baseball bat sized weapon. I guess it could be worse, it could be the 6dick light

Well, light does come out one end. The maglite is a popular flashlight with security guards because it's the closest thing you can carry to a weapon that's not actually a weapon. Security guards are even trained to hold it in such a way that, if someone comes at you, your first instinct is to swipe back at them with the butt end of the flashlight. That way it's easier to claim self defence, because you knocked the guy unconscious reflexively rather than beating him to a pulp.

| | | When i was 11 years old i made weapons from my socks , i filled them with sand or small rocks & swong them arround. My sock-nunchacu was feared among all my classmates. I could launch them with deadly accuracy. lol dunno why this tread is reminding me of that. I never carried (or needed) weapons during urbex & i've been in pretty shitty neighbourhoods (alone). Really don't see the point in arming myself.

Oh, that's funny, last I checked they were carried as a standard part of Riot Gear inventory. I guess if someone pulled one on your and gave you a swift swipe to the head you would laugh at them and call them a nerd. Oh wait, no you wouldn't, you would be on the ground crying in pain.
